As I often tell everyone who is considering SG, the major drawback or complaint is the pool of donors. I always say to be patient b/c they are constantly adding new donors. There does seem to be a slowdown of new donors around summer and the Thanksgiving and Xmas holidays. While it did take some time to find a donor, we eventually found several donors that we liked during our cycles. The good ones do go fast, so you want to constantly check the database. The only way that we could afford it, was to use a guaranteed program and it worked out perfectly. DS is now 5 months old. I did look into GIVF and I think their donor pool is better, but at the time they did not have any guarantee program and I could not afford to possibly spend thousands and not take home a baby. Does GIVF have a guarantee program now?
You may want to look into RBA frozen egg program in Atlanta. They just implemented a guarantee program. You will need to go on the website and request additional information and they will email you the details. I think they have a pretty good donor base, but like SG you will only see childhood pictures of the donor.
Good luck and if you have additional questions let us know.
