And these were on DE cycles? First, your DH must be a real stand-up guy to be willing to consider donor sperm at this point. I ended up using DE/DS because of a strange and awful domestic situation I was in. On one hand, I do feel a certain sadness that my sons are not my husband's genetic kids -- we ended up reconciling. On the other hand, I got pg on my second DE cycle, and I know that's very likely b/c I used donor sperm. Your DH may be in a little denial -- I know it didn't matter that much to me that I needed to use DE, but later I did experience some grief over it. But everyone isn't equally attached to their genetics, and most of us just want it to work. And for the many, perhaps most, of us who have considered adoption, it's a question that has been asked and answered so to speak.
And if you saw my DH with our sons, you'd never be able to tell he wasn't their genetic father by the way he treats them. Parenthood isn't about genetics, it's about parenting. And you can't be a parent till you have a child.
