Heparin just treats a clotting disorder, usually indicated by the antiphospholipid (APA) panel.
There are a variety of things autoimmune, such as the APA above, also thyroid problems (usually too low, treated with thyroid hormone replacement), various infections (antibiotics), steroids to prevent rejection, and ivig or intralipids. MTHR factor would require additional folic acid in prescription doses.
For instance, for my next cycle I have to take the following things for my various "stuff":
up my synthroid a tiny bit for my hashimotos hypothyroidism
add intralipids to my cycle (much cheaper than ivig)
steroids at certain point in cycle before transfer
heparin for slight clotting disorder
and viagra to help my lining...we are pulling out all the stops.
Anyway, I tried to do the immune stuff myself and just wish I had gone straight to the right doc...ugh.
