From my knowledge, which isn't comprehensive, you're right, none of the clinics in the DC area are in that glowing top tier like CCRM for statistics. But since Nicole is just starting out, I would add here that as between glowing statistics and giving yourself more chances, I'd go for more chances. It's not that I think success rates are irrelevant, but there's nothing sadder than when someone shows up on this board having shoveled over most of the cash they had to ttc w/DE at a top-drawer clinic and ended up on the wrong side of the stats.
Since Nicole mentioned going overseas, I'm going to think money is a concern. If you know how big your pot of money is for DE and it's not huge, I would rather be able to have several cycles at a clinic with decent stats, a good reputation on forums like this (I have not heard much good, for example, about Dominion, which she mentions unfavorably, here or on the old ivfconnections Virginia forum.), a healthy sized donor pool, and where I felt comfortable than blow it all on one cycle at a top tier clinic. And, of course, a pg guarantee program is even better.
Also, success rates can mean a lot of things, including that the clinic cherry-picks its patients. I've heard that one reason for CCRM's amazing success rates is that they really micromanage their patients. That would give the clinic higher success rates, sure, but if you're already a compliant patient who is diligent about following instructions and asking about anything you don't understand, etc., that means your chances aren't necessarily increased by that strategy, KWIM?
