A few thoughts....
It sounds like this clinic is on the newer side, so that may be why their stats are not posted on the ASRM website yet - those are a couple years out. That said, 100% is unreal. I would suggest asking for more details such as # of cycles etc...
To explain the discrepancy in the # of frozens - on my day of transfer we had several (4?) that were looking good enough to freeze, but by the next day when it was time to freeze we only had 2 to freeze - so the number can change within a day, however the clinic should be very clear about the number frozen and their grades when frozen.
Her hubby was gone for 2 months - did she use a sperm donor or a fresh sample?
It's not in OC, but San Diego Fertility Center is very highly rated - SDFC, along with CCRM (Colorado) and ORM (Portland, OR) are the top clinics that I see pop up over and over again.... ORM's DE stats are around 75% which is really high - they do a high volume of cycles so their stats are pretty accurate (and knowing they're 75% makes a clinic with unpublished data who says they are 100% [or even 95% as their website says] look suspicious).
Good luck to your friend - sometimes it just doesn't work and it's not anyone's fault - just nature. I wouldn't jump the gun on immune issues and lots of testing after just one DE cycle, but then again I'm not in her shoes... Of course she should have the standard tests beforehand that any clinic would require and I'm also a big fan of Counsyl genetic testing for donor & husband before cycling. |
