Do most RE's do a mock cycle?March 2 2011 at 8:34 AM

I'm fairly new to DE. I am shocked by the amount of $$ that must be spent, but heartened when I see the success rates. I'm anxious to start and have initial consults lined up at two different clinics, both with excellent stats on sart.org. My question is do all intended moms do a mock cycle? I'm assuming it's to see how your body responds to meds? Is it standard procedure?
I'm sorry if this is a silly question!

I did not really want to do a mock cycle because I have a had a successful pregnancy before on my own and did not feel that I would have lining issues- I was wrong. Or it may be that I just do not respond to synthetic estrogen. Anyway, we never did quite figure out the right combo of estrogen to thicken my lining so I am trying a natural FET coming up. I am at least glad we tried two mocks because I would have been kicking myself if we went straight to transfer without and it failed due to lining...I would do one- I think it will save you stress in the long run
