Hi. Hoping this won't block me because RE said this was the way to go with extra meds. So I have meds left over from my cycle that won't be used. RE where I live said I could give them to the office there and they would dispense them to a patient in need. I haven't asked HFI yet if they do the same but I'm assuming they do. I'm wondering if I give them to the nurse there if she can dispense them to your donor for the cycle. Not sure what I have left ... Menopur, some follistim, and PIO. Im going to give the meds to them anyway because I know there is a need out there, but it has to be done the legal way. Since this is what RE approved I'm thinking it is. Moderator, if this is inappropriate for the board please delete message. I thought it would be ok because I am not dispensing meds to anyone only the Dr will be. Anyway, I'll be turning them in to HOuston Fertility Institute when I go next time. My donor is out of town and cannot use them. Let me know your thoughts. The nurses there would know what to do...

Wow - I'm kind of blown away. I'm not used to getting anything given to me, and the random kindness of a person - you - whom I've never met you is very sweet and touching. If you are going to give them to the clinic, then I would love to have my donor get them. I'm still waiting for someone else to pick her. Grrrr. I may end up having to cough up another $10k and just go do a dedicated cycle.

Makes me sooooooo nervous; I'll literally be using all of my $$. What should I do to arrange this? I'm confused by your not being able to use them b/c donor is out of town. Can't you just ship them to her, or is that against the law since they were prescribed to you? But then couldn't you ship them to the clinic where she is? I know, I'm making this too difficult.

So, I would love to have those if you absolutely cannot use them and are going to give them away. Let me know what I should do on my end. And if you figure out that you CAN use them, by all means do!

Its too much to get the nurse to send them to my donor. It'll be easier just having the pharmacy do it. I have 4 vials of menopur, not sure what's in follistim pen. Prob 1 or 2 doses... And I have some prog in ethyl oliate which I was allergic to.
It's not much but it's something I guess. Wish it was more! I'm assuming since you haven't started your BCP yet your cycle won't be going before mine...I Should be starting anytime this week and so should the donor. When do u think your cycle will start? If your cycle starts after mine then I'll just bring it there otherwise I'll ship it to them. I'm assuming what I'll do is give the meds to them and then they can dispense them to you. I hate to waste them, don't want to illegally give them away, so this way theyre getting used and Dr is prescribing and dispensing! . I sure hope you can use them! Do they give menopur to everyone? Anyway once we both get more info on our cycles we'll get them there. Do you live near there? ... maybe I'll just overnight them to your nurse. You can ask your nurse actually the best way to do it!!! Make sure to tell her im a patient. If you give me your nurses name we can still keep everything anonymous... Im sure she wont have many calls on this subject in 2 days... Let me know! I'm game!!!
