Ladies I need help for a friend of mine who is also doing a DE cycle. Here's the background: She's in the middle of her cycle, her donor is probably going to retrieval Friday or Saturday. When she went in for bloodwork and an U/S with the nurse yesterday she told her that she had a cyst and she had most likely ovulated. This probably happened because they did NOT put her on birth control. They told her she didn't need it because she's 42?

She thought for sure this was going to completely ruin her 5th and final donor cycle and they were going to have to freeze the eggs. Her husband talked to the doctor yesterday because she was distraught and the doctor convinced her husband that it wasn't a "big deal" because they would freeze the eggs and do a frozen cycle. Whereas to she and I that is a big deal! The results of fresh vs. frozen are very different.

Then the doctor calls her back today and says he got her bloodwork back and her progesterone is fine and she didn't ovulate so she doesn't have any problems moving forward with this cycle. That is ALL he really told her. Considering that she and I have had multiple screw ups with this office we are wondering if this is indeed true or if they are just trying to cover themselves. Does anyone have any experience with these issues? We just need some help! She's requesting to go back in for another U/S. I was told myself that a cyst I had put off estrogen and would screw up my cycle. This is all very frustrating and we don't know what to believe.

I am 44 and my clinic put me on birth control, so strange they did not do that with your friend. I would still go with the clinic for this donors eggs as it sounds like aside from the cyst everything is going well.

Do you want to share the name of the clinic? Others may be able to provide information on them that will help your friend decide on future treatment, just in case this one does not work. I am not sure how big a deal having a cyst is.
