Hi everyone. I'm still trying to figure all of this out, so I apologize if I'm not using the correct terminology... Brief history in case you didn't see my intro post a few weeks ago: I'm 37, have been having hot flashes for a year, had a surprising pregnancy and miscarriage in June, was diagnosed with POF in August (no periods since the miscarriage), and am now ready to try DE..
We had our first RE appointment today and we were all set to start the mock cycle (lining looked nice and thin via ultrasound), but we just got blood results back and my estrogen was super high. Needless to say, the cycle is a no go. The high estrogen is not in itself surprising, I guess, since I've been on HRT since August. But I'm worried... shouldn't my uterine lining be thick if my estrogen is this high (527)? Is it possible that my lining isn't responding to estrogen? Then what?
I'm supposed to stop my HRT completely and wait two weeks before getting re-tested. I'm absolutely dreading the return of the hot flashes, but I guess it's inevitable.. Anyway, is this to be expected? Anyone else had this experience?
Studies have shown that there is not a direct correlation between estrogen levels and

lining thickness. Sounds like your levels are high because of the HRT. That you lining is thin with this estrogen level may mean that you will need estrogen supplementation at either a higher level and/or a different delivery method (injectable, vaginal, etc.) My E2 numbers were over 2000 at one point, when taking it to thicken my lining. I have seen over women with numbers between 100 and 300 and have thick lining. It is a very individual thing. The US gives the most accurate picture.
