I did a mock cycle for this month. I took 3 estrace pills orally a day for 7 days from CD 2-CD 9. My LH CD 9 was 14 which I thought was high as I normally ovulate either CD 13 or 14. Anyway...I was expecting to ovulate soon given that LH reading but only negative OPK's so far and today is CD 14 with no surge in sight. I will say that I ovulated CD 16 for the first time ever last cycle likely because of a m/c the cycle before. Just wondering if the estrace is delaying ovulation or if my cycles are still wonky after having had a m/c. Thanks.
Hi, Dee. I am always on estrace in the luteal phase (switching to another form of estradiol in the follicular phase), and yes, it does tend to suppress me a bit and slow things down for sure, by lowering FSH. Follicles are smaller on day 3, grow more slowly and ovulation happens later. This is a good thing if you are trying to get pregnant and usually ovulate on day 10 due to high fsh and it slows things down to 14. In your case it may not be helpful.
