Reality check - beta 57

February 14 2012 at 11:59 AM
Seymo  (Login Seymo)

It's 11 days past my FET and I had my beta today - 57. Help me out and be realistic. Pretty low, huh?

Back story - my embryo's were frozen on day 3. I transferred a 1AC blast and a morula two days after thaw. I started having symptoms 3 days past transfer but they faded. I have been getting BFPs since last Friday but very faint.

I think that may be fine

My first beta was 64 at day 11. FET are notoriously lower than fresh cycles. I was told anything over 50 was fine for 12 days..Mine was also a 5 day blast.
Good luck wishes coming your way.

Well, it's a little low but not out of the game. Mine was that at 9dp6dt (success ment.)

So only one day earlier than you are now. There were no problems.

I think you are definitely still in the game, especially since it was an FET, as they can be a day or two behind, can't they?

Wishing you luck!

I feel like people are sick of this story but (pg ment)

February 14 2012, 2:04 PM

3 yrs ago yesterday at 9dp5dt from a frozen cycle, I got a call that my beta was 51. I hoped for one healthy baby. My betas never took off - I only had one three days later then one at 5w6d when I went in for first ultrasound and saw ohmysweetheavens IT'S TWINS!??! My betas had on average exactly poked along doubling every two days the entire time. Hope this is a little encouraging. happy.gif

Wow

February 14 2012, 3:16 PM

That's crazy!

I have had too many not go my way to get excited at this point but I still appreciate the encouraging stories because it makes the next days bearable. And I don't feel like I am wasting my time with the POI shots.

Of course the doctor just called (which is so considerate. I am not just hearing this news from the nurse) and told me not to get too excited but that stranger things have happened.

Thanks to all for your encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Yes

In theory if you assume my day 3 frozens didn't loose too much time during the thaw-re-growing process. Then they were transferred 48 hours later (basically a day 5 transfer but they wree a little behind) and today is 11 days after that.

Well I just love hearing these stories! Fingers crossed....

Re: Reality check - beta 57

Seymo,

Congratulations! My beta was 49 at 11dp3dt. That was a fresh transfer too. When my RE called me to congratulate me and told me I was pregnant I was shocked. I was supirsed at their positivity. I was getting faint positives on hpt's as well. When I inquired on the lowish number they told me that it was fine and that they have seen live births with a beta of 10. I had to wait 4 torturous days for my repeat but the repeat was in in the 700's. I just had my 12 week ultrasound and the baby is measuring 2 days ahead. I have been following your story, I am happy for you.

Seymo congrats :)

Hi Seymo,
It sounds like a 'normal' low beta. A beta of more than 20 at my clinic 14dptransfer was a postive. Some early betas are high as they are twins or your donor just produces high betas for singletons as was the case with me. Some betas are low as they are singletons. Your beta sounds fine ok. Congratulations, lovely news BTW happy.gif best THK

Seymo,

I know the low beta is a bit scary but I have a good feeling for you. Plenty of betas on the lower end have lead to healthy babies.
Hang in there and know we are all here for you!!
best,
kerri

I can't tell you all how wonderful it is to have a place to come and "talk" about this. After so many failures I just don't want to get my hopes up and I really don't want to talk to any "muggles" about it. Its hard to be positive when so much of the past many years has been negative.

I am having my repeat beta Thursday morning and I will approach it that I will be pleasantly surprised if it is good news. (And understandably depressed if it is bad news).

Keep the faith

February 16 2012, 11:52 AM

Hi Seymo,
I feel like I have posted this many times too on this website, but I started with such low betas on a fresh cycle and was sad to hear the news on day 10.

Day 8 16
Day 10 24
Day 13 74
Day 17 500

It really decided to take after that disappointing day 10 and I just had my 16 week ultrasound with one healthy baby!

Thinking good thoughts for you.
