My primary care doctor has picked up that over that last few years (YEARS) I have chronically elevated WBC. Just beyond the normal range. I am getting a referral to a hematologist but I thought I would ask here: has anyone ever heard of this in relation to DE failure?
Glad your PCP picked this up. I'm surprised clinic did not notice this on your CBC. I don't know anything specific but I would think it indicates some type of chronic inflammation and/or infection. I hope they can figure out the issue and address it. Maybe this is the missing piece of the puzzle for you.
Will elevate WBC's. Not sure if this is any help but if you happened to do your labs during or post cycle and were taking steroids then your WBC's would be elevated and should normalize within a couple of months of taking the meds.
I have pulled all my CBCs from the last three years - I have had a few thanks to cycling and MCs. The WBC has been elevated on half of them. Including the one before my first IVF cycle. The last three in the past year have all been elevated.
You would think they would have mentioned it before going forward with the cycle but maybe it doesn't matter since it is only mildly elevated....
if the WBC's are running mildly elevated and nothing else is going on (no steroids, inhalers, absence of infection ) the MD's usually chalk it up to stress. If you have been under a lot of stress this past year and there appears to be no underlying infection ( UTI's, viral stuff) it may be just that. It is interesting why no one mentioned it, it may be that they were not concerned but you are right to definitely check it out and rule out everything. If they were significantly elevated then that could be more serious (but not always). You may be someone who always runs a bit higher. It is always something isn't it?
to say hi and let you know that I am thinking of you.
Get in to see a Dr. as soon as you can manage to get some answers.
I hope it is something easy to fix and that this is the answer to what is happening for you.
Hi Seymour, I remembered today that I had this. I think they said it indicated that I had been ill recently. I had had swine flu twice so... Was not surprised at the finding. I was a bit off the bell curve with the results like you. Sorry about the spelling of your name, am in iPad and auto correct driving me spare! Best Thk
I had success after the evolve finding btw.
