| Has anyone used the medvacation? They have travel progrms for about 11K and they even will do ICSI with frozen sperm and ship to your local RE for $10K. |

I'm presuming their donors would be Hispanic. (Of course, that may be exactly what attracts you to the program.) Can you find out about their success rates? If they're OK, Costa Rica would be a great place for the tourism side of fertility tourism. Maggie (in VA) |

Or probably Russia, either, although it might make you feel safer. Plenty of U.S. women cycle at Intersono in Lviv, and I think they coordinate directly with the clinic. Now, I cycled in the Czech Republic in 2009 when airfares were lower, and it came out to about $9K with travel expenses for my sister and me. I'm not sure what airfares to Ukraine are like; they might be better, might be worse (Czech patients typically fly to Vienna or Prague depending on the clinic they're using). Check out fertilityfriends.co.uk before you make any decisions, and I'm responding more above on your post about DE/DS. Maggie (in VA) |

I am actually just unfortunately at the end of my 2WW wait with a likely negative result from a FET that I did through MedVacations. (Tested this morning, 8 dp 5dt and was negative and have no symptoms.) (I didn't do a live transfer because I started bleeding during my cycle and since the donor was already halfway through to retrieval it was too late to cancel. They did a freeze all.) I did my cycle in Panama City. It's either there or Russia for IVF as I recall. The IVF coordinator in Panama City speaks English, as does the doctor. The hospital is very nice. I have all good things to say about it - except of course, that it didn't work. I hope to be able to squeeze in my last FET this month (i.e., I have enough left for one more I think.) If you have any specific questions, please let me know. I used my airline miles and found a cheaper hotel - so I didn't do their "travel package" so it's slightly cheaper - not by too much though. |
