cycle cancelled

I had another sonogram today and my lining has gone down. My transfer was supposed to be Thursday. I will probably be cancelling, but haven't heard back from my doctor yet.

I don't know what caused the lining to start going down. The sonographer told me it was probably hormonal. 3 possibilities: I ovulated and did not know it. The estrace dosage I'm taking was not high enough, maybe I need patches? 3) I had been having erratic periods for a long time and couldn't get them straightened out for this cycle.

I am so sorry to hear this. I probably should have been cancelled for about the same issues you have in November (BFN) my lining dropped down below 7 and I was told it was compressing. I tried patches the next cycle and did much better with an 11mm lining. At least you didn't waste the embryos on a bad lining.

Dee, So Sorry

I am really sorry. How are you doing about this?
I use both patches and the pill. I think that is the best way to go. When my lining was not up to par, I increased the patch to every other day from every 3 days and it really helped. Also, I took 3 doses of pills a day.

My RE decided it would be okay for me to continue the cycle, and increase my dosage of estrace pills. However, I wish they would prescribe some other drug I could take, like Viagra or the patches. My transfer is Thursday and don't know if I can get my lining back where it needs to be, by that time. I have never, EVER had issues with lining before, so this really blindsided me. Have many people gotten pregnant with thinner linings?

Did you ask for a patch?

no but

I will ask for one when I get there. Its odd that they did not recommend a patch. Perhaps they don't use that in Czech Republic clinics. I've also heard of using Viagra, I definitely want a new protocol next time.

Sorry you're having lining issues

Sorry to hear your frustrations, Dee. Glad to hear you're moving forward with the cycle, though. If you are looking for ways to enhance your lining, you might want to check out the thread that Leigh started a few months ago about needing to get her lining up. I was going to include it as a link, but the search feature is not working right now so I can't find it. Check it out. Might give you some ideas for the next couple of days, in addition to whatever meds you're going to take. My acupuncturist swears by soaking your feet in warm water every day, and other posters had other ideas.

BTW, we're cycle buddies, I'm having an FET tomorrow. Good luck!

Good luck with your FET. How many embryos are you going to transfer?

I did not know that about soaking feet in warm water. I am going to try it.

I had an acupuncture session today, with a new acupuncturist.

Yes, do it for at least 20 minutes.

The search feature still isn't working or I'd share that thread. Sorry about the TMI, but I do remember one other poster shared that orgasms are good for blood flow, too. Just sayin'...happy.gif

We are transferring one. We're very twin-averse, for a variety of reasons in our situation. We've got 3 frozen, so whether or not this cycle is successful, I'm hoping to have at least one frozen remaining.

Fingers crossed your lining increases by Thursday! Good luck!
