RBA in Atlanta Won't Take Clients with Military/Government Insurance

Apparently, they are too anxious about conflict-of-interest referrals and kickbacks through government/military insurance, as the hospital where they do their transfers and retrievals has had problems in the past. They cite the Stark Law (anti-kickback law) as their justification. Which is fair enough, I guess, although I'm not pleased about it as a general practice.

The f-ed up thing is we are 100% self-pay, and won't run anything through TriCare at all, yet they won't take us anyway because our family uses TriCare (military health care insurance) for our regular healthcare.

Oh well. It's within their rights. No frozen egg magic for me. Guess I'll look at doing a fresh DE cycle at a local clinic in or near NYC when it's time.

If any of you plan to use RBA, and your insurance is through the DOD, VA, TriCare, or anything military- or government-based, take heed and look elsewhere. Sad irony for some is that the VA is now making noises about advancing greater fertility treatment coverage for veteran's families.

Too bad your lawyers are so darn cautious, RBA! Once burned, twice shy, I guess...
