..come on then you big bunch of benders, those who are still around, sound off, post a picture, let us know you're still alive, what shows you're goin to and in how many ways your car's knackered.

I'll start. This is me, with my girly Ruth, at our mate's wig party. Only I didn't have a wig so just put my hair into pigtails.

This is my motor, a 2.0S with FR32. I'm on my 4th gearbox and that's fooked too and the axle has started rumbling and vibrating in the last two days. But it's 130 brake and the engine is spot on perfect.

Nothing that a bit of good weather wont see sorted. Hopefully it'll be mobile again for the Bury Retro Ford day and by the time COCk comes along I should have it finished off with all the bits I've been building up... its sidepipe, new rear leaves, new brakes, 1.6 axle, massive rear wheels and arches, 38DGAS on a properly machined out manifold and a strip down and repaint of the tired matt black paint. Oh and I'm gonna put my bumper back on.

Well OK if I finish it before COCk then I'll be amazed.. but I can dream..

Come on.. who's next?

Re: Roll call

I'm Sam, and here is a song I wrote for a recent court hearing in which I was involved...

Oh I do like to wee beside the roadside,
Oh I do like to wee where all can see,
Well public exposure is so wrong, wrong, wrong,
Hear the sirens come,
Put the handcuffs on.

Oh I do like to wee beside the roadside,
Oh I do like to wee where all can see,
And I wink at all the dollies,
As I hoik back up 'me trollies,
Beside the roadside,
Where all can see.

All that effort and I got 150 hours community service. Bah.

Hi, my name is...

March 25 2008, 6:45 PM

chiki-chiki Rich JC. Richard is my first name, im not rich, JC are my other two initials.

Here is me with me boys...

[IMG][/IMG]

Here is my car. Its a rolling 1.6 auto shell that will one day be a nippy 2.0 in signal orange.

[IMG][/IMG]

Work is slow due to having the two little people in the pic above. It will get there though. Here are my three previous capri's...

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

The top was a 2.8 that Lee444 now has (and I believe is bent). The bottom one rotted away horribly and the middle 1.6 laser famously sold on affordable classics (back page of classic ford) for 3 times as much as I paid for it.

Yo,

I'm still alive. My 2.0 is running fine and I'm taking time off my 2.8 to sort out my new bike. Aside from motors I've been drinking lots and getting artistic with a marker pen:

or stevepeanut. I drive a 2.8i special, which this weekend, thanks to matty28i and his welding skills, now has a full roll cage and harnesses. So far its gonna be used most of summer, off to Jamies show, and as many drag races as I can afford to enter. Then I might take it off the road over winter and fit a bigger engine.

When I'm not messing with the car, I'm riding my aprilia sl1000 falco. Which I love more than my capri I must admit.

The score with me..

March 25 2008, 7:50 PM

This was the car 3 or 4 years ago after I sparayed it

It now needs a bit of work again particularly since I sprayed the nearside door last year after a car park dent appeared and it a slightly different shade of blue with an odd stripe!

I swapped the tailgate when I sprayed the car but the paint inside is flaking as I did that bit in a hurry so I'm restoring the original which was a bit rusty inside but is now getting sorted

(spot the oversparay on the glass!)

The driver's door is a bit rusty around the top hinge so I've sourced a good replacement as it's easier than keep taking the door on and off - currently rubbing it down and priming

My gearbox is rumbling a bit which TCK reckons is a dry bearing and Nige says is the input shaft. In case Nige is right, and because it was only £51 I've bought an unused recon box still in its crate

The guy selling the box also had some alloys off a 2.8 so I bought those too but they need tyres

Popped up to see Johno a few weeks back and came back with some shark grey recaro seats. I've cleaned most but the driver's one still nedds a good going over but is in sound condition really

I swapped my axle over the weekend

but in the process I seem to have shagged my hip which means it's painful to walk now. At least it gives me time to repond to questions such as this:-)

and this is my car

With RichJC behind it and (I think) Nige's black Laser next to it!

In 2 weeks the car and I do our first track day together, so I am spending any time I can checking all the relevant bits are in top nick to get it ready. The fuel tank is gonna be changed 'cos it leaks going round corners and I don't think the marshals will like that!

March 25 2008, 11:33 PM

well im Nat, my real name is Anthony, but ive been known as Nat for as long as i can remember.. and im not known as Tony, anyone who calls me Tony gets a knock in the goolies

Been on here for many years now.. and as some of you know i drive a supercharged capri (pinto engine)

ive been mostly tweaking the setup to get the most from it, the lastest mod being a custom pulley set to spin the charger faster at more usuable engine rpms, there was no point having max boost at 7000+ rpm when the engine peaks at 6000 that means more antisocial noise !

and me at last years cocc:

.."tonic wine".. tonic wine which says, if my frankly impressive memory for written word serves me, "tonic is in no way intended to infer healing or medicinal properties.." I mean.. once you taste it.. and wake up from it.. it's kind of obvious that it's not gonna heal you.

We really need stickies in this forum! This kind of thing should stay at the top.

Me - at the back before anyone asks :P

The car:
?t=1206529631

How many ways it's knackered? Deep breath

Dented Panels: 5
Rusty Bits: 5
Minor mechanical problems: 3
Minor electrical problems: 3 or 4

Still pretty standard (other than the dents!) Only real changes I've made are a stainless steel dash panel, a nice shiny Mountney steering wheel, K&N filter, Aldon leccy ingnition and flamethrower coil, oh and a bodged up mk2 style grille. Got Chrome bumpers and mirrors to go on when I can get hold of some front brackets, going to get some different wheels when some nice ones come up for sale near me, and possibly do some of the changes recommended by Glynn and others - high torque cam, injection head, larger bore exhaust etc.

my name is haydn

March 29 2008, 12:08 AM

and I'm an alcoholic haha...

I got my first capri at 18:

Photobucket

honest 2.0 laser, 2 owners, 425 quid, no rust, would stall all the time, I assume points now but was pretty reliable, nothing really ever went wrong with it.

a few months later it got stoved in at the front by some stupid bitch driving around a blind corner on the wrong side of the road, no seriously...

so insurance paid me 500 quid and I sold what remained for 260, and bought this sorry sack of **** for 800 and never looked back, that was in 2003 I think:

Photobucket

since then I've had no end of problems with it but I do love it still, fitted a body kit a few years back:

Photobucket

then last year I had it painted:

Photobucket

and now here is where I spend most of my time:

Photobucket

tom what colour you getting your car sprayed?

Oh yeah and this is me and my other ride:

Photobucket

the skateboard.

and the hot rod:

Photobucket

and that's me.

If you're ever down the Saffron Walden way again matey give me and Daisy a call - if we're free we should at least see who can break soemthing off their car the quickest. There's some nice roads up there.

Hi all

March 29 2008, 8:11 PM

I'm still popping my head in now and then. For those who don't know I no longer have a capri. At the moment i'm stripping down a BMW 530i (3.0 218bhp 32v V8) to use all the main parts as a basis for a seven style kit car. You can now find me posting regularly on the locostbuilders.co.uk forum. I'll get some pics up if anybody is that interested.
