When we build these little things, we get a chance to really look at the aircraft. I have never before appreciated the tough, rugged good looks of the Hurricane. The Spitfire is a beauty but the Hurricane has the lines and looks of a fighter through and through.
I think this is a good way to start my ABABoBGB. No aftermarket resin or brass just do what can be done with materials on the desk. My own Vac canopy, I did use aftermarket decals but only the fuselage roundels, all others are from the kit.
Airfix 1/72 Hurricane Mk I. Polish 303 Squadron. "RF-C" is said to have been been flown by Sgt. Eugeniusz Szaposznikow. Known as his "lucky aircraft" in the Battle of Britain, 1940.

My cockpit shows up better than I thought it would. My decals for the framing didn't work on the curved surface. Good old fashioned brush painted here.

I am going to experiment with softer leads to get darker panel lines on dark upper colored camo.

I had HUGE fun with building this aircraft and BIGGER HUGE FUN with the Airfix GB overall.
Thanks All,

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines
The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many
modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and
photos on this Forum.
You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant
reference information and photos to this Forum too.
This Group Build will feature Airfix kits.
Build as many kits as you like
Conversions, aftermarket and
scratchbuilding are all permitted.
Any markings are acceptable.
Document your progress and do a
write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did
you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if
everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature
