Response to Hannants have it on pre-order at £12.99

I think thats a very bold statement to make based on a few low res photos from the internet. The revell kit is a different scale to start so it's not a true comparison.

I for one can't stand the link and length tracks on the revell kit, they look crap IMO, you can always see the joins and they don't sit right. The image you used above illustrates this nicely. Not to mention they're a nightmare to assemble- and thats a 27 year old adult with about 20 years of model making experience talking here. Not an 8 year old kid thats making his second model tank ever.

Everyone has their own preferences though, I'm sure many people prefer link and length tracks, which is fine. Obviously Airfix made a conscious decision, with reason, to use rubber tracks as they cost considerably more to manufacture than hard plastic link and length tracks.

But whatever they do, "hater's gonna hate"

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature Airfix, Frog and Matchbox kits.

  1. Build as many kits as you like

  2. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  3. Any markings are acceptable.

  4. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
