Response to Next AOKGB after the Firefly - your opinion, folks

The problem is that it is taking up to 6 months for new releases from Airfix to filter out across the world, so whilst some new ones are readily available to the UK and Europe they takes ages to get to the rest of us for whatever reason

A good example of this is the Gnat has only arrived in the LHS here in Australia last week, where the local LHS get their kits through the Australian distributor. We are yet to see the Swordfish through them. Some shops get them through other sources but they disappear within hours.

It is why I suggested the Gnat as its new to most of us, I honestly do not expect to see their new 1/72 Bf109E until just before Christmas based upon past performances. The Chipmunk and f-80 are not readily available unless through E-bay. The other suggestions are all currently available in some form or other.

I personally do not want to source a new release kit from the UK, at the expense of our local shop.

Cheers

Fred

PS I am happy with whatever we decide

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature Airfix, Frog and Matchbox kits.

  1. Build as many kits as you like

  2. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  3. Any markings are acceptable.

  4. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
