Chinook ready for decalling ... I think. Painted with Vallejo except for the pylon which is Xtracolour Oxford Blue.

The decals should have been straightforward but the light blue and white stripes to go on the rear pylon are a) made for the Matchbox Chinook and so might be the wrong size and b) the light blue is the wrong colour, far too light. Unusual for Modedecal to get the wrong colour but there you go. Not sure what I'm going to do about this problem, I have a couple of ideas but I'll have to suck it and see.

Note for William, at last I've run into the problem of Vallejo drying too quick in the nozzle. I know you've had the problem many times but it's the first time for me. The reason was I had the pressure too high, but remember I always spray with the largest nozzle on the Badger 150 so that helps to avoid clogging anyway.

If you wake up in the morning feeling like you've had it, be grateful.

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature Airfix, Frog and Matchbox kits.

  1. Build as many kits as you like

  2. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  3. Any markings are acceptable.

  4. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
