Well, I've made a little bit more progress on my Marauder.
I made the seats for the pilots, navagator, and radio operator.

I've also worked a bit on the cockpit by adding the quilted insulation,
rudder pedals, fire extinguisher, oxygen tank, etc.

To add texture to the quilted insulation, I used K & S brass girder mesh to
emboss plastic sheet. I painted some liquid cement on the plastic and then
pressed in mess in to it.

I'll try to get the the fuselage closed up in the next few weeks then it's on
to the wings and engines.

Those seats look absolutely gorgeous - the whole cockpit in fact, is a true testament to your skill. Nice use of the 'ol noggin on making that quilted patchwork - another techniquw to add to the manual!

Hi Kevin,

I did something similar with the grills on my Gotha but sprayed primer on top of cheese cloth...yours looks much nicer!

Great to see it coming along. You HAVE to bring it to Oregon in September...

Wonderful progress!

I'm at work (don't tell anyone). I think tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer. I think I'll walk home today down from Celebration Park. Truly lovely outside.

Great day for painting outside!

HyperScale's Group Build Guidelines

The objective of this Group Build is to encourage as many modellers as possible to build their kits and share their progress via words and photos on this Forum.

You are welcome to post general construction tips or relevant reference information and photos to this Forum too.

This Group Build will feature Airfix, Frog and Matchbox kits.

  1. Build as many kits as you like

  2. Conversions, aftermarket and scratchbuilding are all permitted.

  3. Any markings are acceptable.

  4. Document your progress and do a write-up on your build - where did you have trouble, what improvements did you make, what markings did you choose and why? It would be GREAT if everyone would do a writeup and submit it to HyperScale as a Feature Article.
