...I have thought up a semi plausible answer. Khrima is the main bad guy. The person they are fighting and they all know they are fighting. They have been equipping themselves to fight Khrima (he should be called karma), so they had all the stuff the weakness Khrima(karma) and the people that work for him. Eternion is completely deferent and just happened to have none of the weaknesses of Khrima(karma).

so what's the opposite of Karma?

He was about to slaughter him when the bard whipped out his spoony powers, weakening Eternion long enough for Khrima to whip out the mallet of extreme pain.
