I now hate Sony more than I ever did before. My Playstation 1, which I got all of 3 month ago, has eternally annoyed me with its flickering screen. Why? Because, it would seem that it spins the disks lopsided. In trying to fix said lopsidedness, I generally have to fiddle with the the poorly-made interior (which you're not supposed to fiddle with) until it decides it wants to start displaying the screen properly. So, today, I was performing said fiddling activities when I heard a nice little sound that informed me that I had somehow managed to push a little metal thing on the top of the spinner down. And, wonder of wonders, it NO LONGER SPINS. And to think, I actually would have considered buying their Playstation 2 at some point before I got the happy little expensive piece of crap. The truly sad part is that it's one of their so-called portable ones, IE, their second version. If they can't even get it right after the second try, then that's simply pathetic.
sigh I wouldn't be so angry if it wasn't preventing me from playing Chrono Cross. Video games don't make people violent--inability to play video games do. Not to mention uber-high costs for repair of consoles.
Were you playing on a pretty old TV? I know on a bunch of old TVs that I've tested, the screen bounces up and down and does other weird things.

It's a few years old, but not OLD old. Besides which, it runs through my VCR, which is even less old. Of course, neither are Sony brand, so those corporate bastards more than likely put in little crap like that on purpose.
