About this saga

So let me get this straight: a really powerful person (Eternion) attacks Karn and Khrima, and an even more powerful person (Infinel) comes to save the day? I'm sorry, but this plot-line just turned really bad. I was hoping something really kewl would happen (I never expected Gildward to appear in the first Eternion saga). For example, the Bard's ropes could have come loose and he could have fallen in the way of the attack, thus giving Karn and Khrima time to get on the offensive. Then, at the end, Karn could use a Phoenix Down on Gildward, and all would be well. I suppose you could have come up with something even better than that, though. Were you strapped for time when you wrote today's comic, webrunner, or is a plot twist on its way?

Rumours of rumours

April 17 2001, 5:45 PM

Well, I think he's made mention on this forum before of three of the other four eternals besides Eternion. So I'd say this is most likely a plot twist.

Personally, I'm curious if we're going to find out what Eternion's reasons to mess with Karn and Khrima are what with another eternal on the scene.

Duh.

I mean YOU get beaten by a bard and a wannabe villain with a group of heroes just happening to be there and tell me you wouldn't be just a weeeee bit pissed off.

Thought so, I mean getting beaten by a bard would be enough to send anyone over the edge, let alone Khirma.

True nuff

I mean, just look at Valen's deteriorating mental health since the Bardic Wars.

But why did he attack them in the first place?

Then again, it seems that he was just tormenting them, so I'll be quiet now.

Are we trying to piss Daryl off?

April 17 2001, 11:14 PM

Because you guys are making fun of bards. Daryl won't like that, but Bob has a point. I'd be pissed if I was beat by a bunch of wannabes. <---(that doesn't include the bard)

J/K I know your not. Point is don't tiptoe around the subject of Bards just because of Daryl.

Oh, btw, there is no good side.

Probably...

April 18 2001, 12:08 AM

It seems to be most of what people do around here. It's probably a lot of fun, but so are many other things that incur divine(or demi-divine) wrath. I'm hardly a major player on the forum(oh, my time will come...), but I stay away from it anyway.

Um... on the actual topic of the thread? Well, I hadn't really prepared, but...

Currently, Eternion's motive seems to be revenge, but initially he seemed to challenge the party for no reason. So his designs remain shrouded in mystery, and will be revealed... later, probably, since I'm banking on Eternion telling Karn and Khrima that they have not seen the last of him, and leaving. Then Karn and Khrima will leave and forget to untie Gildward. Not an endorsement, mind you, merely a prediction.

Hmm...

April 18 2001, 12:34 AM

Sorry, I don't think that's how it's gonna end. It sounds too predictable.

Hey, do you think Eternion might be the "last boss"?

1. I think you seriously misread that post. He meant, Eternion ends up being the last boss, not Khrima.

2. Threatening to pound the face of the artist is a Bad Thing.

3. Only people who go to chat or people who have know Webrunner for a while can call him Webby .

Why do I dis bards? Let me count the ways...

April 18 2001, 1:03 AM

To answer Jordan's reply oh so far down. We dis bards because, a) they deserve it. Their skills may be somewhat useful in the RP forum. But in the actual RPG's they're almost always next to useless. And b) because we know of Daryl's attachement to them.

As for your suggestion to pound Webby in. You ought to know that aside from his role as creator of this little Adventurers! universe, he's also been known to visit us peons as Eternion and the Master of Narration. Basically, positions which leave even the mighty Liquid X and Krono looking fairly puny in comparison.

In short, not a person threats are likely a) useful on, b) a good idea for.

Although it was probably in jest, still not a good idea. Besides, if they ever do beat the end boss, there's probably going to be an Adventurers! 2 featuring absolutely no resemblance to the original except for a few trivial themes and chookie. Let's hope in that one the overly cute fuzzy thing dies for our sins.

Of Course....

Eternion Would Have Quite a Fight On His Hands If X Could Not Only Access, But Safely Control His Full Powers. Of Course, Since Right Now The Only Way For Him To Access Those Powers Is When He Goes Freakin Crazy And Looses All Controll, Then X Would Get Smacked Around Like The Proverbial Red Headed Step Child.

don't make fun of bards

April 18 2001, 11:51 PM

I'm a little bardic myself. I can play 6 different instuments. (but there all really the same thing) Well, mind you. So, no making fun of bards. Wait, I'm just makeing my self a target aren't I? Not to smart am I? As for pounding in "Webmaster's" face 1. I highly doubt my ablity to hit (rather shake his hand) 2. I wouldn't beable to find him. I just don't want to see Karn leave (RPGs never have the same characters. At least i can't think of any right now.)

I agree

April 19 2001, 2:26 AM

Thieves and shadowy characters win (Shadow and Amarant, anyone?) with ninjas and dragoons in close second. Even better is a combination of the 2, like Kain (shadowy dragoon), Edge (ninja thief), and Shadow (shadowy ninja). Blue mages would be up there as well if it weren't for Strago (I'm not a big Strago fan).

Maybe

April 19 2001, 3:23 AM

But not if you have Black Suits and Thief hats.

Actually, I believe Red Mages shall rule the world. Why? They not only have versatility, but they also aren't limited by the strength of their allies/enemies (mimes) and they don't have to get pummled before they learn their spells (blue mages).
