I dunno if this is right or not, but I can come up with three reasons why they'd use Doom as their example.

First, Doom is the one the entire genre is named after. That's because it came second (granted, stuff is usually named after what comes first, but nobody really cares to remember Wolfenstein, so...).

Second, Doom is shorter and easier to say. Hey, I never said they'd be good reasons. And it IS shorter than Quake.

Third, probably the best reason of the bunch, what sounds more threatening, Quake or Doom? Doom has that nice sound that makes it much easier take the blame for misbehaving children. Heck, I think only Blood is as high up there in the visual image name. And if your target is to scapegoat something, you're gonna go with the one that'll sound more like something you don't want kids to have. Cause everyone knows only young impressionable kids play video games.

Besides, shooting freakish, poorly drawn (by today's standards) aliens really desensitizes you to violence against humans. Wait, no it doesn't.

They're just to friggin stubborn to admit that these kids had some type of mental problem that made em freak out to begin with.

That and it's communism, which is always bad.

And instead of looking at the bad part of gameing look at the good part 1) It keeps them off drugs (how many of you are potheads? None of my gaming friends are potheads. At least im 99% sure on that one) 2)It gives us stuff like Adventers and forums where we can meet people like us. So the press and government can forget blaming it on the games.

besides when I was in kindergarden, we had to color a bear and name it. Mine was "death bear" thats with out video games, so screw those guys.
