Years ago - unopened boxes of these were plentiful. I bought one for $60 !! I just saw
a set at the Toronto Show in real nice shape for $300. I think these is suppose to be
a movie coming out about Ernie Davis. He is one of the key cards. Do your self a
favor get the most recent Beckett Football #25. It has pretty good coverage. A new one
should be coming out this fall.
Thanks Carl. I too like Fred's site and I tried to copy it with no luck.
Were you the person I asked awhile back about a complete Betsy Ross checklist? I have four and have heard of two more. Maybe the new Beckett #25 will have the list. These are really tough to find even tho I live about 50 miles from Stockton.
Speaking of the Beckett FB book I sure find the Tuff Stuff/KP guide fairly useless and not reader friendly.
I believe the checklist has been updated. Also, if you go to Lew Lipset's web site you
can look through the old auctions and you'll see all the cards listed when he auctioned the set. Seems like it was a few years ago now. It sold for big bucks because of that one card.
Take Care
Found Lew's back auction and the Betsy Ross cards. He listed 7 different but didn't say it was complete at that number. If they did one a week during the season you would think there would have been 9 or 10 but then who knows.
I like this set. I have a set that is a mix of PSA 9s and 10s. The 10s seem to have dried up a bit as of the past year. I believe the #1 set on the registry(mostly gem mint) is for sale if anyone is interested.
