Here is the E282 Jack Dempsey

A very, very rare card...issued in the late 1920s. Oh Boy Gum was a Goudey product, so this makes it the first Goudey boxing issue.



Now compare it to this Exhibit card of Mix and Newsboy Brown; the background is the same place, I think. Dempsey and other boxers were in Hollywood in the 1920s making bad serials, partying and generally living it up.

I thought there was something special about that Dempsey card given what you offered the seller. Nice pickup at significantly less than your refused offer.
