CANASTOTA, N.Y. Three-time heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis headlines the 2009 induction class into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Lewis enters as a modern era fighter, along with American bantamweight champion Orlando Canizales and South African junior lightweight champion Brian Mitchell.
Posthumous honorees are middleweight champion William "Gorilla" Jones, welterweight champion "Mysterious" Billy Smith and middleweight champion Billy Soose.
Those older fighters are going to pose some card challenges for HOF collectors. I know of only 1 Jones card, the 1928 Exhibit. I will have to check on Smith. Soose, I know, has an exhibit card as well.
The Mayo would have been issued during his welterweight championship days, so probably his.
Soose wasn't active when the Ringside card was issued. I prefer a card from when the fighter was active. Just happens to be the way I like to collect. Anyway, his 1940s Exhibit is pretty easy to find.
D/K about the foreign Jones cards; the only US card I could find was the Exhibit.
