classical liberalism

classical liberalism is all about intentions...not results...
classical liberalism sees itself as compassionate because of its intentions (probably rightfully so)...but refuses to examine its own results from its imposed collectivist rules.
classical liberalism imposes those rules based on what the "leading " liberals believe people "need" or "deserve"......
instead of its own declaration of equality....(which is where its honesty ends) (to itself and its subjects)
if classical liberalism really wanted equality ...it would abandon the Marxist principle of heavy progressive income tax which treats citizens UN EQUALLY based on income
if income needs to be a factor in equalizing citizens....then why not use it as a criteria for voting as well as taxation?
one citizen one vote.....one citizen one tax rate?....
not to the "classical liberal"
the other thing that liberalism misses in the equation is its own statements of liberty....
Jeffersonian liberalism (as starkly opposed to today's liberalism) was a great proponent of individual liberty
today's liberalism despises individual liberty with every big government law it expands
Jeffersonian liberalism limited government
modern liberalism worships government
jeffersonian liberalism opposed massive restrictions on individual
modern liberalism lives by massive restrictions on individual

intentions

modern liberalism has lived by incrementalism until this january
the difference in the two philosophies can be crudely summed up in the example of fishing
modern liberalism wants to give a hungry man a fish....not his fish ...but your fish....and come back for some of tomorrows catch (your catch ) to give hungry man more of your fish
conservatism wants hungry man to eat as well ....so intentions are JUST AS COMPASSIONATE....(but results may be vastly different)conservatism wants to teach hungry man to get his own fishing pole by sacrifice , learn how to fish (by self reliant paying attention to those already catching fish )and work for his own dinner.....(or starve if he doesn't want to put the effort in for himself)
a much more compassionate outcome /result for the community as a whole

modern liberalism
March 31 2009, 8:43 AM
modern liberalism obfuscates by concentrating on style instead of substance
modern liberalism refuses to self examine ....especially with regard to its own results...
let's examine FDR programs and their success/failure
let's examine LBJ programs and their success/failure
GW Bush is a modern liberal let's examine his success/failure
clinton
carter
what fails with liberal policies?
let's examine them and not repeat them
are liberals willing to self examine?
what fails with conservative policies?
free market capitalism?....when will we have a free market...liberalism's incremental rules have never been removed to try it since the great depression
modern liberalism doesn't care (apparently) about its own results
intentions don't bring people out of poverty
how long will it take north dakota to recover from the massive floods? (self reliant people)(with some help from their neighbors
new orleans still refuses to abandon the principles that led its people to dependency .
dependent people (with some help from their neighbors)
