Joining the chorus of conservativevoices that are hyperventilating over the recently-leaked Department of Homeland Security report on rightwing extremists, National Reviews Jonah Goldberg wrote yesterday that though DHS has done reports on anti-war, environmental, and other groups, it was his understanding is that they didnt and wouldnt use the all-purpose term left-wing to describe those threats. Later in the day, when a reader pointed him to an April 2001 DOE report titled Left-Wing Extremism: The Current Threat, Goldberg replied that he didnt know of a report that came out after 9/11. But this too is wrong, considering the January 26, 2009 DHS report, Leftwing Extremists Likely to Increase Use of Cyber Attacks over the Coming Decade.

I believe that every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation; every possession, a duty. - John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
(U//FOUO) This assessment examines the potential threat to homeland security from
cyber attacks conducted by leftwing extremists, a threat that DHS/I&A believes likely
will grow over the next decade. It focuses on the more prominent leftwing groups within
the animal rights, environmental, and anarchist extremist movements that promote or
have conducted criminal or terrorist activities (see Appendix). This assessment is
intended to alert DHS policymakers, state and local officials, and intelligence analysts
monitoring the subject so they can better focus their collection requirements and analysis.
And they warned about the leftists first. feel better now, or just too brain dead to understand how fucks news and the hate media, anti-America crowd turned you in idiots again?

To overcome extremism, we must also be vigilant in upholding the values our troops defend because there is no force in the world more powerful than the example of America. That is why I have ordered the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, and will seek swift and certain justice for captured terrorists because living our values doesnt make us weaker, it makes us safer and it makes us stronger. if not calling "islamic (sic) Terrorists ....Terrorists?"
Furthermore, where has he ever referred to tea-bagging tax protesters as terrorists? It just hasn't happened. You are completely full of shit.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation earlier this year launched a nationwide operation targeting white supremacists and "militia/sovereign-citizen extremist groups," including a focus on veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, according to memos sent from bureau headquarters to field offices.
The initiative, dubbed Operation Vigilant Eagle, was outlined in February.
The documents outlining Operation Vigilant Eagle cite a surge in activity by such groups. The memos say the FBI's focus on veterans began as far back as December, during the final weeks of the Bush administration, when the bureau's domestic counterterrorism division formed a special joint working group with the Defense Department.
The aim of the FBI's effort with the Defense Department, which was rolled into the Vigilant Eagle program, is to "share information regarding Iraqi and Afghanistan war veterans whose involvement in white supremacy and/or militia sovereign citizen extremist groups poses a domestic terrorism threat."
Michael Ward, FBI deputy assistant director for counterterrorism, said in an interview Thursday that the portion of the operation focusing on the military related only to veterans who draw the attention of Defense Department officials for joining white-supremacist or other extremist groups.
"We're not doing an investigation into the military, we're not looking at former military members," he said. "It would have to be something they were concerned about, or someone they're concerned is involved" with extremist groups.
Mr. Ward said that the FBI's general counsel reviewed the operation before it began, "to make sure any tripwires we set do not violate any civil liberties."
The separate DHS assessment said the "willingness of a small percentage of military personnel to join extremist groups during the 1990s because they were disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war is being replicated today." Veterans could draw special attention, the report said, because of their advanced training.
And with our friends and allies, we will forge a new and comprehensive strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan to defeat al Qaeda and combat extremism. Because I will not allow terrorists to plot against the American people from safe havens half a world away.

Here is Bill Clinton's idea of the real enemy.
Any question about whom he is talking?
"A cultist is one who has a strong belief in the Bible andthe Second Coming of Christ; who has a high level of financial
giving to a Christian cause; who home schools his children; who has accumulated survival foods and has a strong belief in
the Second Amendment, and who distrusts big government."

Care to provide any reliable documentation for that claim, Potse? Here's what I could turn up (the original version of this apparently attributed this quote to Janet Reno, not Bill Clinton):
The plain fact is that the quote is a hoax. The Attorney General has never been interviewed on "60 Minutes." She has never discussed cults, or tried to define one. There is nothing in the counterfeit quote that guides government policy.
The quote first appeared, to our knowledge, in the August 1993 "Paul Revere Newsletter" of the Christian Defense League in Flora, Illinois. The information came by telephone from a woman in Florida whose name was not noted. The newsletter subsequently ran a retraction.

I wonder how many times potese will be shown that some finding or fact he is quoting has long been shown to be a lie, before he modifies his political positions?

Here you are, doubters.
OK ... so some random guy named "Steve Forsman" makes a claim about some alleged "Cult Awareness Task Force" (which, despite allegedly having been an official government entity doesn't yield any hits at all in Google or Wayback aside from this article by "Steve Forsman") and the text in this claim is identical to that in a fraudulent email claiming that Janet Reno said this on a "60 Minutes" appearance that never happened, but you believe it anyway.
There's no hope for you, Potse. You're terminally credulous.
Re: The leftwing extremest report. see how hate media lied to you fuck heads?
April 19 2009, 7:41 PM
LOL!!! As I said, you're terminally credulous.
You're right, Potse. There was a secret government entity alled the "Cult Awareness Task Force" which was so secret that there's not one reference to it anywhere on the net except in this one article by some guy named "Steve Forsmann" (who also is otherwise amazingly absent from the net) and they just happened to take their definition of a "cult" word for word from a fraudulent email about a non-existent appearance by Janet Reno on "60 Minutes."
Ok Potese, here is the owner of your resouce. Its says you are a cultist.

icr directory Creationist cults. The Institute for Creation Research is a religious cult which does no research, publishes no peer-reviewed materials in any journal, staffed by self-proclaimed "professors" which lack any discernable credentials in the field within which they pontificate. cia-drug directory The latest news during October 1996 is that the the United States terrorist organization known as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been heavilly involved in trafficing in crack cocain since the 1960's deliberately to suppress the domestic black populace and to keep them down. The stories have taken on all the attributes of an urban legend except that it should more properly be considered a national hoax. The difficulty of just passing off the stories as nonsense stems from the history of the CIA's involvement in selling drugs for firearms and firearms for drugs to support "freedom fighters" in other countries. (Cnl. Oliver North's admissions of guilt were validated.) The history of the CIA lends credability to this latest series of allegations and it's certain to be a long-lasting topic among conspiracy buffs and human rights organizations. The Chairman of The Skeptic Tank routinely archives urban legend stories such as these and makes them available to the general public as a matter of the Tank's charter -- we don't often hold the opinion expressed within these archives. - flr
evenmore directory Here there are more text files describing the debunking of religious fundamentalist beliefs (such as Creationism) as well as text files covering newspaper accounts of fundamentalist evils of late.
gay directory Among these files you will find samples of hate laws enacted (or atempted) against homosexuals in the United States -- all of which have been found unconstitutional. The extremist Religious Reigh needs an outgroup to demonize. Gays are it this year -- you will be it next year.

cp002 directory The files in this area concern various groups historically linked with, or rumored to be, members or offshoots of the mytholigical "Illuminati." The nonsense contained within this folder is really freakish, to say the least. The contents of the Rosicrucian cult are the rantings of insane lunatics -- download a few and see for yourself.
