BTW I don't necessarily put liberals and democrats in the same category. For instance we have a retired athlete from the NBA that has announced he'll be running against our very liberal mayor. He describes himself as a conservative democrat. That I can live with very comfortably. There's a good chance I'll vote for him if he manages to take the nomination away from Nickels. But then I'm a right leaning independent and I suspect that the difference between a conservative democrat and a right leaning independent is negligible.
