The US Senate is full of idiots

and whiny-tittie-babies. All the Republicans and almost all the Democrats as well. Here's Harry Reid today, mouthing the idiotic Republican line about Gitmo detainees:

REID: Im saying that the United States Senate, Democrats and Republicans, do not want terrorists to be released in the United States. Thats very clear.

QUESTION: No ones talking about releasing them. Were talking about putting them in prison somewhere in the United States.

REID: Cant put them in prison unless you release them.

QUESTION: Sir, are you going to clarify that a little bit?

REID: I cant make it any more clear than the statement I have given to you. We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States. [...]

QUESTION: But Senator, Senator, its not that youre not being clear when you say you dont want them released. But could you say would you be all right with them being transferred to an American prison?

REID: Not in the United States.

And a little later in the same press conference:

QUESTION: But Senator, Senator, its not that youre not being clear when you say you dont want them released. But could you say would you be all right with them being transferred to an American prison?

REID: Not in the United States.

For God's sake, if there's anything we're better at than anyone else in the world, it's imprisoning people. We've got SuperMax prisons out the wazoo.

And who the hell knows what he meant by "Cant put them in prison unless you release them." If that wasn't a world-class brain fart I don't know what is.

And on a related note, I've yet to see a good explanation for why regular Courts Martial operating under the UCMJ aren't adequate to trying all these detainees.

It's nice to hear a leftist on this board begin to opine about far-left political leaders encountering the realities that the Bush Admin had to contend with.

I see a light bulb switching on.

Reid being an idiot doesn't make the Bush administration look any better, Greg, sadly it just makes the Democratic leadership look like they belong reading "My Pet Goat" too.

I see a light bulb switching on.

Where have you been?

I was regularly critical of Clinton when he was in office. I regularly criticized Democratic as well as Republican members of Congress and political officials all throughout the Bush Administration. Naturally, I was deeply critical of the Bush administration. And I've criticized President Obama for some of his decisions. Why would this be any different?

and whiny-tittie-babies.

I agree, even though I have never heard of the term "tittie babies." It does seem that being a whiner is a prerequisite to being a politician.

Showing your ignorance again. Or you don't really turst the rule of law.

Probably both. You believe the rule of law applies only to Republicans and never to Democrats unless it is in their favor.

well jan, the reason they are shocked to see you consider issues regardless of party is that repubican and other wingnuts don't work that way. They just stick their nose up the ass in front of them and off they go in lock step.

I said it before.....

May 20 2009, 6:08 PM

.....and I'll say it again, Reid needs to be replaced along with Pelosi.   I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong with the Democrats for keeping them in place as their "leaders".  It's just one of the reasons that I would NEVER register as a Democrat.

Nope....

Seems it's YOUR memory that is malfunctioning, putz.

Bush was elected by the American people.

Nope....he was SELECTED by the USSC after getting LESS of the popular vote from the Republicans

Reid was elected Majority leader by yhe [sic] Democrats.

Wow.....you got one correct!   That is why many of us don't like many of the pissant Democrats in Congress.

I agree and I look forward to the end of both their political careers.
