You do have other options. The change I can believe in now is E85.
There is a lot of controversy popping up over E85. Mechanics are encountering a variety of problems, and damage that they are attributing to it's use. Apparently the nationwide blend of 10% is at the ragged edge of problem free use. Of course, it has been a given for sometime that mileage suffers with the E90. I know a number of high-mileage drivers who have computed the loss of efficiency, and found that they are money ahead to use pure gasoline at a higher cost. The upshot is that the Great Ethanol Solution is shaping up as another "green" boondoggle, with ignored, or unexpected costs, and the usual crop of unintended consequences.
