The above is a realistic indication of the current mental state of the media. They will *not* be "agents of change" if/when the time comes. So indeed, approval numbers will remain high, denial will reign supreme, and basic bald-faced lies will be the order of the day. IOW, the Liberal Perpetual Alternative Reality Machine is humming along nicely.
Not to worry. I only mention the above as an explaination of a much enjoyed quasi-vacation from the political trenches, speaking only for myself, of course. There is an abundance of material, that isn't a problem. One could spend all the time they wished, posting examples of reality in contrast to what is currently being marketed as such by water-babies such as shown in the above clip. But there is a better way, and much easier too.
The Liberal Machine can churn out Obama-gruel at a steady rate, but it isn't going to change reality, it only offers a warm-fuzzy alternative until the real thing punches through it. And that is: The policies of the Obama Administration are going to be effective, or they aren't. They can, and are, being sold at the moment as a God-send, which is fine.(see: "warm-fuzzy") But that *cannot* last. Four years is a political eternity in the fast paced world of today.
Domestically, the "economy", however many facets of culture, and daily life you wish to assign to that, will either get better, stay the same, or get worse. Only *one* of those is good for Obama. Only *one* of those will justify his policies. And time will simply tell, period... The media can only "stall" for so long with reports of additional tingles up the legs of news anchors. The media can only mis-report, deny, mis-characterize, help cook the books, and shade the news for so long if the economy continues to slide. The American people are *not* stupid. That may be shocking news to the Left, but then so were the elections of '00, and '04. *chortle*
Foreign policy is the same story. The difference being the possiblity of uber-dramatic events. In the main, nothing in the way of a dramatic event can be of much good to Obama. Status-quo, with upticks of good news, and God-like PR trips abroad, will best serve him indefinately. His policies, more or less, support that as they now stand. But for example, let Iran send so much as a bottle-rocket in the direction of Israel, and hell comes to breakfast. Once again, time will tell, period...
So why get all hyper-active with the "real truth", and the play-by-play machinations of The Keystone Kops come to Washington? The political trenches are loaded with steely-eyed types doing just that, and I see no calling to bring it all to the board.(Notice the virtual disapperance of all the breathless "breaking news" posts that the moonbats ran here with for eight years) "Tiiiiiime...is on my side, yes it is".(Rolling Stones) If the Obama Presidency does everything advertised, okey-dokey, I can deal with that. A tiny percentage I can even get behind, but only tiny... If it doesn't, I have an excellent excuse for a 3-day celebratory drunk dropped in my lap, and I don't even drink.
My opinion, which I have hardly kept secret, is that I see a multitude of trains having left the station. All are racing downhill, all have no brakes, and all are heading in the wrong direction. If even one of these ends in a fiery wad of twisted train parts, The Obama Magical Mystery Tour goes up in flames with it. People *notice* train wrecks, even if the media does it's level best to tell us they really didn't happen. So I'm perfectly happy to pull up a comfy chair with a nice view of all the tracks, and listen to the tick...tick...tick...
