Scheuer: "The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States. "
Imagine it's 2005 and some left-wing pundit is on Kieth Olberman's show and says something like that. The furor from the right-wing noise machine would be deafening. The so-called "liberal media" would be running around (at the RWNM's behest) demanding that every Democratic politician with a pulse issue repeated denouncements of the pundit, of Olberman and of MSNBC. Olberman might just possibly save his career if he prostrated himself and begged forgiveness, but despite the desperate scramble by every person on the left to denounce this thought, the quote would live on forever as absolute proof that the left hate Bush so much that they wish for thousands or even millions of Americans to die just so Bush can fail.
But this shit is just a somewhat more extreme example of the common fare on FoxNews - especially on Beck's program - and there's nary a peep from the so-called "liberal media" and not one move from any Republicans to denounce this treasonous piece of crap.
Not a ripple that I have noticed of yet, except from you, and Moonbat Media Matters. I suppose that the rest of the band could all be out of step except for you two...
My favorite comment about this worthless piece of crap;
Glenn Beck giving credence to the notion that perhaps some of his viewers and their loved ones need to be murdered for the good of the country. Unreal. Simply unreal.
IMO if the R party continues with this line of fear politics they are doomed to lose in 2012. IMO This "vote R because the leftist, liberal, communists, socialists, anti-Christian, pro-murder, fascists, anti-God, pro-homosexual, anti-family, no good values Democrats hate the USA" campaigning will only work with the most ignorant electorate whose numbers currently stand at about 25%.
Oh, yes we forget that the Democrts in Congress wanted us uo lose Bush's war and also hoped that we would be attacked to prove Bush had not really protected our country.
And Gee, I hope you remember tht Governor Lamd said it is your duty to die when you get old so that the health care system won't be bankrupt.
So you want to stretch one opinion into something that if greater than what the Democrats have done. Fine, do so.
Not a ripple that I have noticed of yet, except from you, and Moonbat Media Matters.
Exactly my point. So much for the so-called "liberal media." As I said - if this had been a liberal pundit saying something like that on Olberman, the shitstorm would be of cataclysmic proportion.

You can't6 be certain about that until something like that actually happens.
You can't6 be certain about that until something like that actually happens.
You're kidding, right? Have you missed all the past episodes where some far less outrageous comment has resulted in so much pressure, happily amplified by the so-called "liberal media", that Democrats all over have been forced to condemn and apologize and explain in excruciating repetition how they don't condone or agree with, etc.? Where the hell have you been?
So you give us Ward Churchill as an example. Do you not recognize the difference between a guest on a talk show and one who is being paid by taxpayers?
Perhaps if anybody besides Jan knows who this wing nut is, we'd be upset.
He's certainly far better known than Ward Churchill was before you guys had your shit-fit about him and demanded that every liberal and Democrat go through ritual denunciations of him while lying prostrate and pleading forgiveness for daring to be liberal when shithead like him exists somewhere in the world ...
Perhaps if Glenn Beck did not obviously let the guy hang himself with his absurd statements.
Yeah, right. Beck is nodding and agreeing with him.
Perhaps if you were familiar with Glenn Beck you would know his expression for "I don't make this up, folks."
I'm all too familiar with Beck's lunacy.
Perhaps if Glenn Beck hadn't said at the end, "That's exactly what he [Osama] should not do..." we'd be upset.
Yeah, right ... I notice you omitted what he said at the beginning of that sentence: he listened to Sheuer and nodded, and then said "Which is why I was thinking this weekend if I were him that would be the last thing I would do right now."
He's agreeing with what Scheuer says and reinforcing that agreement by pointing out that what Scheuer said is the basis for his opinion that strategically it would make sense for bin Laden not to do that.
You're really straining to pretend that Beck didn't endorse what he so clearly was endorsing.
Perhaps you are misreading and over reacting, Jan.
Nope. I'm not misreading. And my reaction is all about how the so-called "liberal media", who scurry to amplify every right-wing meme and desperately kowtow to every right-wing hissy-fit, are absolutely mum about this outrageous shit broadcast on the major right-wing media outlet. It's a fucking joke, but you right-wingers have got away with passing that joke off as reality for two decades now.

So Obama goes around the world apologizing for the US? So isn't he saying that we should be attacked or that we have been mean and vicious and need forgiveness?
If we don't deserve an attack of some kind why did Ward Churchill say we were a bunch of eviol people and deserved 9/11?
That does seem to be outrageous, doesn't it. Is the president badmouthing our country. Well didn his pastor J. Wright badmouth us? We must be so damned evil it isn't funny.

You prove Jan's point poetse. The rightwing screaming hurricane machine went nuts over all those things.. but, when some equally culpable rightwing nutjob actually suggests that "IT WOULD BE A GOOD THING IF AL QAEDA EXPLODED A BOMB IN THE UNITED STATES", you really have no problem with it.

You've proved the point poetse.
Jim..
And you pay attention to that and have the nerve to tell me that Governor Lamb's statement about the elderly's duty to die is one man's opinion. so why isn't this one man's opinion?

And, you prove the point once again. You just don't get it do you poetse?

I understand it perfectly. You want to whine because no one complains about the things you think they should. But when your oxen is gored, it's a different story.
Hey, we've had republicans lose their seats because they mention some one was a member of the KKK. Talk about innocent comments. Gee, that is outrageous.
Typical Republican reframe, claiming that the Democrats are the party of hate. Funny though I have never heard the Democrats tell me to support my President, or get the hell out of this country. Yet that was the tactic the Republicans used on us when Bush was in Office. At least until Bush lost his popularity. Sounds to me like it is the Republican who are the hate party. And all those who are not Republican, or are former Republicans can see that.
