The Dems are terorfied of any Conservative who attempts to show that the individual can succeed if the government gets oput of the way. I think that is a paraphase of Ronald Reagan.

The reason is obvious. Liberals want to enslave and conservatives want to set free. Ben Franklin stated the difference better than any other of the founding fathers. "Those who would give up a little liberty for security deserve neither."

We have reached that point in the nation's history. And that's exactly why Liberals prefer people like McCain to people like Palin.

2)  Women would be able to decide for themselves their reproductive rights?

So when did you learn tht she was a quiter? And had she bee portesident,k she could have stopped the investigation just as Obama has fired two Inspector Generals. So as long as a corrupt person can force his will on the people and get away with things, we would be better off with a quiter.

Read the Constitution and note that the powers of the Federal government are clearly defined. The rest of the powers are left to the state.

Therefore, if it isn't in the Constitution, it belongs to the state. So the individual state would be at liberty to decide the various issues you have named.

What is there for Democrats to fear from Sarah Palin? You should ask those who spent so much time ridiculing, embarrassing and spreading untrue rumors about her and her children during the campaign season. There MUST have been something that frightened them very badly to have gone to such lengths and lies to smear her.

  Apparently it was her impact upon the political scene, and the country at large when she was selected by McCain.  It *had* to have scared the Dems silly, because the subsequent media focus, the army of Dem operatives sent to Alaska to dig dirt, and the unprecedented viciousness, and personal nature of the attacks, were *entirely*, and *laughably* out of proportion to who she was, and what she had been selected to run for!

   I think some of it had to do with Hillary's defeat, and McCain's age.  The thought of this "shallow pretender"(*snort*) sneaking her way into history as the first woman president just absolutely terrified the Dems.  So terrified, apparently, that to this day, they just can't let it go.  The mandate from on-high must have been to so totally destroy her, that any chance of any repeat was impossible, and this required a post-election focus that was almost as intense at times as the one during the election.  *That* was pretty revealing.

   So I in turn ask a question.  What other *possible* reason could there be for all of this other than fear?  If she meant nothing, and was nothing, as so many of the clowns claimed, and are still claiming, then WTF?  Is McCain still an object of intense media focus?  Did Letterman choose *him* for his joke?  How about Huckabee, or Romney, or *any other* players in the '08 election?  *Why* Palin???

As strange as it may seem, Palin advocates individual responsibility and less government.

Exactly what the Conservatives want and what the Liberal fear.

Why? It's just the mindset of the Liberal to take power through courts rather than legislation because they know people will not vote for liberal agendi. And the liberals believe in force to get their agendi accomplished.

Individuals who take responsibility do not want government limiting their ability to have life liberty and the pursuit of PROPERTY. "That is what the founders said originally. But that was later changed.

But at present, the Liberals abhor people who succeed without them. The liberals are a group of elitists who want to control.

Sarah Palin spoke against that type of government. Ronald Reagan spoke against that type of government. Should be as clearly seen as the nose on you=r face.

Maybe its because you view Palin differently than I do. I had never heard of her before she was selected to be McCains VP. I rememebr I was watching the Morning Joe show when the announcement came over the AP and everyone just looked at each other like "who". So I was very eager to see who this woman was because the chatter was all about grabbing the Hillary vote, IE women.

I really was surprised after she made her first speech because I thought there is no way Hillary supporters are going to rally around this woman. Not because of her being a Conservative, but because she was totally out of her element. I do not care for professional women who act like teenagers. That whole cutesy, winking persona just nauseated me.

And so help me, I felt sorry for her. I felt so bad about how her children were attacked, and the horrible things said about her infant. Then I got annoyed at her, because she had those kids with her everywhere and face it, the world is a cruel place. The more she exposed her children to the limelight, the more attacks it invited. Of course Im not making excuses for what was said, but she had to realize she wasnt in Alaska anymore. IMO she should have protected her children by having them stay at home, and in school.

I dont fear Sarah Palin. She seems like a lovely woman who was given an opportunity and like most women opportunity doesnt come knocking that often, grab it when you can. But I always felt she was just not ready, that she was put in embarrassing situations and she clearly had no idea how the world worked outside of Alaska. Maybe its a regional thing, some folks find that cute winky personality appealing, but I do not and I personally dont know anyone who did.

I wish her well. I do not hate her, nor do I fear her. Im sure that she can do wonders raising money for special needs children or the GOP in general. But I also hope her "handlers" advise her better, to stop playing the victim and get on with it. If you put yourself in the public eye, you need to have a tough skin.

P.S. I don't think Sarah had her children in the public eye any more than Obama did. It's just that people on one side of the fence decided to attack Sarah's children, and folks on the other side of the fence seemed to have better breeding than to do something that vile.

If she ends up running for POTUS, I would actually gain respect for her.  I have a BIG problem with certain politicians winning their election and not serving their people while they look for the next big step.

I don't see her as a quitter either. I see her as being smart enough to know when it's time to move on down the road and put her energies to better use doing something else. She would be a "lame duck" anyway, and "lame ducks" are rarely able to accomplish much anyway. I just think there are better things ahead for her.

If I recall correctly, she had her kids on the campaign trail with her. There were always pics of her arriving in a new city or town with her children. They were frequently on stage with her, went to hockey games, etc. I know the Obama kids made appearances but I believe they were home with their grandmother and attending school for the most part.

Whatever. It seems to me I saw the Obama girls as often as I did Sarah's. But it didn't bother me in the least, and it certainly didn't drive me to insult, ridicule and lie about them.

Either did I, Barbara, and thats the second time you have brought that up in this thread. I gave you my reasons for feeling the way I do about Palin, it has nothing to do with her kids. Attacks on children are unnecessary and cruel. I dont know what else you want me to say!

Well...we would have to ask William Jefferson Blythe Clinton wouldn't we...didn't he quit after promising the people of Arkansas he would not...and matter of fact his wife did the same to the idiots of New York State that elected her didn't she...and there's been a long list of Democrats that are as you say... "quitters"...but there's many more that ran and didn't quit their elected positions "just in case" they lost, then...in case they did lose the election they could have the one thing that is most important above all others to the leftist...the political power of their current elected office!
