It would seem to me that he would do better to leave her alone...she hasn't mentioned him, not a word! He has no more reason to attack her than the other media gadflies...but yet they are so afraid of her they cannot resist the urge to cut her at any opportunity...and that says more about them and their partisan agenda(s) than it does about her!

I also would think that Letterman would maybe give a thought to possibly having to meet her husband face-to-face....I'm sure his white socks would turn bright yellow at the prospect of having to have his ass cash the check his punk mouth has written!

Letterman is a comic.  This is what he does.  Anyway, his top ten was not "far out."  In fact, it was quite tame compared to many of those he has done.

Some people just have to keep hitting drums, even when the drums don't have much relivance.  You guys ain't got much on your side at this time.

"Letterman is a comic.  This is what he does. "

Oh.  Well, that explains it and excuses it.  Then I suppose we have to all embrace Rush Limbaugh now.  After all, he's an "entertainer" and that "is what he does."  If it's all the same to you, I'll pass.

The difference between Letterman and Limbaugh is Letterman is a comic entertainer, and Limbaugh is neither a comic or entertaining.

Talk about reading comprehension?

Read that top  ten list ............it makes fun of GWB(that's the best line imo)

It makes fun of John McCain. Letterman even pokes fun at himself.

Nowhere does it attack Sarah.

Yet we hear about "the politics of personal destruction"

Apparently Sarah has whined so much that to even to mention her name in a joke is now sacrilege.

Get real............Sarah gets exactly what Sarah deserves.

Re: Letterman's Top Ten

Okay.  Letterman is an angel.  He's breathtakingly funny.  He's right-on about any and everything he says about Palin, no matter how disgusting or ridiculous, and he is nowhere near the a$$hole Limbaugh is.  Let's give him a medal and have done with it.  The thinly disguised suggestions in the "answering machine" tapes have nothing to do with Sarah Palin, and all is right with the world.  wink.gif

I guess the idea that Dems are afraid of her isn't so far off the mark after all.  All the "ROTFLMAO" and "LOL" and "ROTFL", etc. that are dutifully trotted out whenever the idea of the Dems being afraid of Sarah arises sounds more and more like whistling in the dark -- desperation tactics -- and  feeble attempts at laughing away the perceived danger.  I firmly believe that no matter how viciously she is lied about, the liar would be protected, defended and even abetted in spreading the lies.  Well, of course they would.  We've already seen that happening.

Re: Letterman's Top Ten

July 9 2009, 10:05 AM

Thank you, Moonie, I consider that a compliment.  The truth of the matter is:  I spent 8 years blasting and damning George Bush because I did not like him and I did not/do not think he was good for the country.  Many people have expressed over the years that they always support the person they feel is best for the country, and that they do not merely support whatever the party tell them do, and if that's what they do, then that's fine.  However, they are absolutely bullheaded towards anyone else who does the same.  They do NOT allow anyone to deviate from their ideas and beliefs, and if you do, then you are a pariah.

The crux of the whole thing is:  I don't like the person I was during those 8 years.  My objections about the Bush administration could have been expressed in a much better way, a more constructive way, and I am determined to do that with the Obama administration -- of which I do not approve.  I have criticized the Obama administration, but never even coming close to the venom I used on Bush.  Yeah, I've criticized some of Michelle's fashions, but that's about as far as my personal attacks on the Obama family go.

Many people have expressed their amazement and stated, as you have, that they don't "know" me anymore.  The truth is, they didn't really "know" me before.  The difference  is probably that I am trying to keep my promise to myself to be more understanding and to defend those I see being abused unfairly, rather than jumping on the bandwagon and helping to kick down folks with information based on lies and hatred.  In this thread -- and many others -- the things being expressed about Palin are only to ridicule her and her family.  There is nothing constructive or helpful about it all.  The attacks on her children were particularly heinous, and they continue to this day, with Obama supporters defending those who lie about and ridicule her and the children.  I don't understand why it seems to be so wrong to defend Sarah Palin against the ridiculous things being said about her, when we were so quick and eager to defend democrats when ridiculous things are said about them.  It comes down to placing party over people.  I don't believe in doing that.

To sum it up:  I got tired of being a hypocrit, and I'm tired of watching others exhibit their hypocrisy.  If I am now repugnant to you or anyone else because of that, then so be it.  I answer only to God, a higher power than anyone on this board -- and I'm sure that comment will bring some interesting comments on Christians.  I've been raked over those coals too.  It matters not.

To answer your question, yes, I feel just fine, thank you.  In fact, better than I have in years.
