It didn't come from the lady making the 9/11 call. It isn't on the call and she is defnite in her claim she didn't tell Crowly at the scene. In fact she claims she only told him she had made the call.

Yet Crowly goes into detail about what she told him including she observed two black men with what appeared to be backpacks on the porch.

I haven't heard the 911 call...is it out?

Perhaps Crowley didn't hear the 911 call and assumed it was about the two African-American men he encountered once he went up to the door.

It's not unusual for this kind of discrepency to come out in a report when you have multiple people reporting and different reporting instruments.

That's one of the purposes of a police report-- weed out the inconsistencies in an arrest or other incident.

But isn't Crowley saying he was responding to a call about "two black men with backpacks" before he ever went to the door?.  The caller mentioned neither black nor backpacks.

Actually, if I recall correctly his arrest report said that he got that description from Ms. Whalen at the scene. She denies this.

I still think the most likely story is that he did hear it, but not from Ms. Whalen. He may have heard it from the elderly neighbor (whose name we have not been told) and was later confused as to who said it. That seems credible to me.

I believe it came from the initial neighbor since she was the original witness.
