If you HAVE to whip out a mix, get the Duncan Hines... it is moister!

I am avoiding that Birthday process today... trying to ignore yet another day that validates that family means nothing... and friendships are everything.

So far, I have heard from my Tarot/horoscope site, my soap opera site... and two former lovers.

Isn't it sad that those I have screwed in the past have more to offer me than those who just 'screwed me over'? Ahh, family... Makes you appreciate that 'being disowned thing' at moments like this.

Thank you for your kind words. The last few weeks have been fairly bad here... so any kind words are highly appreciated.

I wonder what old Tubby is doing these days. I have been spending too much time on the net researching other things to thinkn of him much... if ever.

As to the mix thing... my first serious food job was at a Wedding Cake 'factory', a small bakery that did ten or twelve weddings a week... as well running a restaurant. They used Duncan Hines, but added a few discs of white chocolate (or dark chocolate) to add flavor to the mix. We made it by the twenty box batches.... and after a while, you lose the taste for baked goods... or at least limit your focus. My interest went to muffins, and specialty brownies for a while...

These days my addictions include seedless watermelon (man, my garden is packed with them, and they are going to ready for us to start harvesting in a month... and the canteloupes will start ripening in weeks as well).

I will be in hog heaven.
