But, I'm STILL afraid to jump in after the horrendous losses....what is one to do?

Get a balanced, managed portfolio.  During the dive, I took a hit for only $6.000 and it's up $10.000 since.

The stock market is for long term investment. If you have already retired, you shuld try bank CD or money market that i insured. These are the safe investment and will satisfy those who have retired with a nest egg.

If you are young, the stock market will rise and fall throughtout your life time and you can play the market without too much fear.

One must wonder what quality of student Harvard graduated with that class of 95% A's and B's.

But the way their professors and at least one graduate act, the conclusions should not be hard to reach.

I am retired and my managed account is fine.  But you need to make sure it is being watched and not open to serious risky investments.

The post wasn't really about investment strategy.

Just some good news that the stock market in spite of all the doom and gloom seemed to have had a good month.

Yes it does AJC, and I am a happy camper. Not for me so much but my kids. My investments will hopefully go to them, unless something comes up that I really need it. It is definitely long term...And diversified.
