Is there sumthin' wrong with applyin' the same tactics approved by the president?
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face."
One on one is a bit different than where a group of people are meeting and trying to have an orderly discussion about something.
------------
Have you seen or read the news today? This "get in their face" is not one on one. Thugs are being sent into meetings now to silence opposition. Go take a look at the August events at Obama's organizing website.
Oh. I think I understand. You are saying that thugs are being sent in to disrupt meetings where old folks are chastising their Congresscritters and related interest groups?
I would say that defining your politics is like trying to pick up mercury with your fingers. (Used to do that as a kid. That was pre Environmental Enlightenment.)

In every video I've seen the people erupt when an arrogant Senator or Secretary or other politician hack talks down to them, or tries to push the meeting in another direction. When Specter said they had to make quick decisions, for example, frustrated people called out, "Why?"
Is that illegal? Immoral? Dangerous?
I'm glad to see the Democratic Party rocked on its heels with this popular uprising. Thanks to these people going to the meetings, we might get more information about the bill as it evolves and more time to review it and give feedback to politicians and staff.
The Dems will be in denial-- they are in denial-- but as they all go back to DC in September, you know they will be somewhat chastened and, hopefully, humbled by the spirited opposition of millions of Americans to the form and process of this bill.

...is now ATTEMPTING to compare civil rights protests (legitimate in every way) to PAID neocon SHOUTERS at the healthcare reform townhall meetings. Thanks for more proof of your rampant racism, gilligan.
....I don't have to "prove" anything at all. Others have already PROVEN that they are corrupt (as in DISHONEST) neocons. Here's just one such DISHONEST idiot.....
'Grassroots Protester' Actually GOP Official By Brian Beutler - August 7, 2009
Here's a fun example of astroturfing in its purest form: A woman attending a town hall event for Rep. Steve Kagen (D-WI), and--while loudly raising objections to the Democrats' health care reform proposal--insisting she's just a regular concerned citizen. Except, she's actually a GOP official.
Heather Blish was vice-chairman of the Kewaunee County GOP until 2008. She actually worked for Kagen's opponent, and, according to her own resume, is affiliated with the Republican National Committee.
PS to moroniker.....if you don't think gilligan's post comparing these town hall meetings with legitimate CIVIL RIGHTS protests isn't racist, then you are even MORE corrupt than I already think you are.

The woman was right when she said (paraphrasing) "Sir, you are not running this meeting." Oh yeah... she forgot her place, after all she's only a woman. How dare she talk to a man like that! chortle! Why would anyone support rude mouthy people disrupting a speaker? Did you all applaud the "pink ladies" when they were being disruptive?"
