You didn't get mad

sandeelady  (Login grand_sandee)

Copied from another board where it had been copied from somewhere else.  I do not know the original author ,  if  I did I would give them credit............a lot of credit.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when.. when... wait for it... when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all ok with you but helping other Americans... well f*ck that. That about right? You know it is.

You didn't get mad when you posted a load of horseshit disguised as half truths...spin...and leftist propaganda...because you're too ignorant to get past your partisan political myopia! Why don't you try looking at something for what it really is instead of skewing it to partisan politics and maybe you will get mad at what a fucking idiot you've been turned into by your elitist leftist masters!

I believe many from the right call the things on the list "lies" although they actually did happen.

I believe I never heard the people who are screaming about a health care plan scream about the things on the list.

Happy...........no,  I wouldn't say that. These things didn't make anyone happy, but they did in fact happen.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

Was it legal, sandy? Not really because the time established had passed. The recount proved that Bush had won. Gore insisted that the Military votes no be counted and that many counties in FloriDUH not be counted except in those Democrat counties in which he though he had won.

BTW, many p[eople did not vote in that Election because Dan Blather insisted that Gore had won Flordia. the panhandle wasw heavily for Bush.

So why don't you reevaluate your posts and see how many of the other things you've posed are incorrect.

Was it legal, sandy? Not really because the time established had passed.

..........................The time had absolutely not passed when the counting was stopped.

The recount proved that Bush had won.

......................................The hand  recount was never finished. It proved nothing

Gore insisted that the Military votes no be counted

......................That is a total lie. All legal military votes were counted

and that many counties in FloriDUH not be counted except in those Democrat counties in which he though he had won.

................Florida law allowed a recount in counties of the candidates choosing. It was Floridas election and that was Floridas law.

BTW, many p[eople did not vote in that Election because Dan Blather insisted that Gore had won Flordia. the panhandle wasw heavily for Bush.

...........There is no proof of this.  There are many,  many,  many, variables that could have changed the total either way.

The point is that you didn't get mad that the SC made the decision instead of the people.

I was very angry about the mass confusion in New Orleans, but not at just the federal government.  There was plenty of blame to go around ... at local, state and federal officials ... and at some the people for not heeding evacuation warnings.

When individuals mistreat other human beings, as some of the soldiers at Abu Gharib did, of course it makes me angry.

And it makes me angry that our intelligence was so wrong on the WMD's in Iraq.  But to claim only a handful of people were duped, is disingenuous, to say the least.

....................................I was on  this and other boards where you posted daily screaming about the Federal part of the mess.  I don't remember reading your screams at all.

Sure there was plenty of blame to go around but my taxes support the feds who should have been sending in aid immediately.  I have no connection to the city or state officials in NO and neither do you.  Did you scream about the federal game playing and lack of caring.  I don't think so,  all I read from the right was blame the mayor and the gov.

Those quotes have nothing at all to do with Bush actually invading a country . There is a huge difference between a poltician of any party saying we have information and a poltician using contrived information to jump into a war.

When exactly was it that you screamed in anger about that war?................oh  I think  never.

How can a reasonable person even begin to believe that the Katrina mess wasn't first a city mess...and then to a much greater extent a state mess and back to being a city mess! They stayed to loot! Say that ten times and you might get the picture...as screwed-up as it was they still looted! Damn! Wake-up! and lose the partisan politics! The federal government could not come into La without being ask to by the governor of the state......it didn't happen, Bush was not ask even though he told the gov he was ready....not ask because the leftist Democrats wanted to give Bush no credit...they like Bush had no idea the levies were going to break...the same levies that the city and state had spent the federal money on putting roads to the gambling barges that took in $$$$$ of state/city taxes! The idiot mayor of NO took down the city's evacuation webpage and made access password protected...did you know that? I have the webpage...you care to see it? I copied it before it was taken down...read it for yourselves and see just "what" was supposed to have happened! You never saw this on TV did you!.....(save it)

http://www.cityofno.com/portal.aspx?portal=46&tabid=3

If you'll notice the city had a plan...no one used it! IF they had there would not have been the problems we all saw...and Bush would not have been blamed because as one that lives on the NC coast and as one that has been through many hurricanes the whole "blame game" was partisan politics and race baiting politics...favorites of the spin machine of the Democrats! Take a look at the health care lies...same people, same bullshit!

The one and only unfinished hand recount. It was Florida's election and Florida law allowed the candidate to choose counties. He had to petition for each one .  There was no way to just petition for the whole state.  If it was a poor law it should not have been changed in the middle of the recount.   That 's just my opinion............oh no wait,  it was the opinion of three SC justices also,  the ones who didn't owe anything to the Bush family.

Anyone who is as intelligent as Jim should know that czars are not constitutional. they are people who are neither elected nor responsible to the people.

That in itself should be enough to let every American know that the Republ;ic does not belong to the people. Simply stated, it is the liberals who sc4ewed the people and the system.

So call me evil for stating the truth.

Since opinions are meaningless, why should anyone have one?

But have you ever seen a liberal who doesn't have an opinion? And since he has an opinion, yours must be wrong.

like Obama and his lies now?

How angry are you at his provable lies?

and

here are a few....

are you angry at Obama for his lies?

7 Lies of The Obama Administration
John Hawkins
Tuesday, August 04, 2009

To liberals, actually pointing out when they're lying through their teeth is considered to be dirty politics and, in the case of the Obama Administration, perhaps racist, too. Still, despite the risk of infuriating Barack Obama's dwindling number of supporters, someone needs to point out that he may already be able to challenge Bill Clinton for the title of the biggest liar ever to occupy the White House.

Of course, since I'm a partisan conservative, I don't expect everyone to just take my word for it. So, what I'm going to do is show you some quotations so that you can make your own decision about whether the Obama Administration has been truthful or not. Just read through these quotes, which only represent a small portion of the ones I could have selected, and ask yourself if the American people can take our President at his word.

1) "One year from now, we have the chance to tell all those corporate lobbyists that the days of them setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more to take on lobbyists than any other candidate in this race - and I've won. I don't take a dime of their money, and when I am president, they won't find a job in my White House." -- Barack Obama, November 3, 2007

"President Obama promised during his campaign that lobbyists "won't find a job in my White House."

So far, though, at least a dozen former lobbyists have found top jobs in his administration, according to an analysis done by Republican sources and corroborated by Politico." -- Politico, January 29, 2009

2) "If you make under $250,000, you will not see your taxes increase by a single dime - not your income taxes, not your payroll taxes, not your capital gains taxes, nothing," Obama said last week. "Because the last thing we should do in this economy is raise taxes on the middle class." -- CNN, November 3, 2008

"One of President Barack Obama's campaign pledges on taxes went up in puffs of smoke Wednesday.

The largest increase in tobacco taxes took effect despite Obama's promise not to raise taxes of any kind on families earning under $250,000 or individuals under $200,000.

This is one tax that disproportionately affects the poor, who are more likely to smoke than the rich." -- Breitbart, April 1, 2009

"Wavering on an emphatic promise he made in the spring, top White House economic adviser Lawrence H. Summers would not rule out middle-class tax increases Sunday as a way for the Obama administration to pay for a sweeping health care plan.

The statement, which was echoed by Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner on Sunday's talk shows, pries open a door to the kinds of broad tax increases that Mr. Obama opposed in his campaign and that he and his advisers have ruled out since taking office in January." -- Washington Times, August 3, 2009

3) "As Justice Louis Brandeis once said, sunlight is the greatest disinfectant. The more people know about how federal laws, rules and regulations are made, and who's making them, the less likely it is that critical decisions will be hijacked by lobbyists and special interests.

I think the current administration knows that, too, which is why it's been the most defiantly secretive government in modern times.

It's time to change that.

When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as President, you will have five days to look online and find out what's in it before I sign it." -- Barack Obama, June 22, 2007

During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama promised that once a bill was passed by Congress, the White House would post it online for five days before he signed it.

...When he took office in January, his team added that in posting nonemergency bills, it would allow the public to review and comment before Mr. Obama signed them.

Five months into his administration, Mr. Obama has signed two dozen bills, but he has almost never waited five days. On the recent credit card legislation, which included a controversial measure to allow guns in national parks, he waited just two. -- New York Times, June 22, 2009

4) "During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama said several times that he intended to negotiate health care reform publicly. In fact, he said, he'd televise the negotiations on C-SPAN, with all the parties sitting at a big table. That way, Americans would be more engaged in the process and insist on real change.

"That's what I will do in bringing all parties together, not negotiating behind closed doors, but bringing all parties together, and broadcasting those negotiations on C-SPAN so that the American people can see what the choices are, because part of what we have to do is enlist the American people in this process," Obama said at a debate in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 2008." -- Politifact, Updated July 10, 2009

"The notion of televising negotiations behind a health care revamp was so central to Obama's campaign promises of change and openness, however, that it became part of his stump speech as he traveled the country in 2007 and 2008.

He'd describe how televised deliberations would take place around a big table, with seats filled by doctors, nurses, insurers and other interested parties. As president, he'd joke, he'd get the biggest chair.

"Not negotiating behind closed doors, but bringing all parties together and broadcasting those negotiations on C-SPAN," Obama explained in a Democratic debate in Los Angeles in January 2008, in language similar to many of his campaign stops.

However, the two biggest deals so far industry agreements to cut drug and hospital costs were reached in secret." -- McClatchy, July 9, 2010

5) "President Barack Obama Saturday proposed an additional $313 billion in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and other programs to pay for health care reforms expected to cost about $1 trillion over the next decade.

...About $110 billion of the new cuts would come from reducing scheduled increases in Medicare payments. That would encourage health care providers to increase productivity, White House budget director Peter Orszag told reporters.

...Altogether, the Obama administration is now asking Congress to trim spending on Medicare and Medicaid by more than $600 billion over the next decade, which is more than some Democrats are willing to swallow." -- CNN, June 13, 2009

"Let me also address I think a misperception thats been out there that somehow there is any discussion on Capitol Hill about reducing Medicare benefits. Nobody is talking about reducing Medicare benefits. Medicare benefits are there because people contributed into a system. It works. We dont want to change it." -- Barack Obama, July 28, 2009

6) "That's why we submitted the robust budget we submitted. And, of course, we also came forward with what we're going to talk about today, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, an initial big jolt to give the economy a real head start." -- Joe Biden, June 2, 2009

"The care with which we are carrying out the provisions of the Recovery Act has led some people to ask whether we are moving too slowly. But the act was intended to provide steady support for our economy over an extended period not a jolt that would last only a few months." -- Joe Biden, July 26, 2009

7) By a vote of 244-188 Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed an $819 billion bill aimed at stimulating the economy and tempering a spate of layoffs across the country.

Says President Obama, the bill's lobbyist-in-chief: "Most of the money we're investing as part of this plan will get out the door immediately and go directly to job-creation, generating or saving 3 to 4 million new jobs." -- Forbes, January 28, 2009

In Saturdays address, Obama also responds to critics who believe the $787 billion bill is not sufficient to turn around the economy and who are, therefore, pushing for another stimulus package.

[A]s I made clear at the time it was passed, the Recovery Act was not designed to work in four months it was designed to work over two years." -- CNN, July 11, 2009

His post was far more accurate in describing GWB.  But, nevermind.  You already have revealed truth, and you don't need any contrary views to intrude.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

When a republican potus does the above it's all so wonderful! Republicans, fools and idiots.... They post over and over again "Look how the republican potus is working so hard at protecting us!"

Yes, Sandee, that is quite a list of lies you posted.  I got mad about just about everything on that list, including the last one.

After thought:  Actually, I'm not really that mad about the last one, mainly because no one knows what is really going to come out of it.  Perhaps if we EVER fine out what it's going to include and exclude, then I can decide whether I want to be mad about it or not.

Re: You didn't get mad

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
yes did, but then they did something good (detailed the fact,in a supreme court decision , that citizens have no constitutional "right to vote" in a federal election Bush v.Gore)

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
Did they?dictate Energy policy? link please

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
she was not covert at the time remember?...and it was a liberal that "outed her"

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
I didn't think it was the best legislation....but it was congress.....no surprise....and now they are doing it again

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

it was legal...read the U.N.resolution that came from the 1st Gulf War..."any Member Nation"....was the wording...and we are a member nation....thus....legal...according to the impotent UN.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
again , not illegal, but it did demonstrate to the Muslim world...including the radical element , that we are not afraid to act in our defense...unlike the impotent socialist entity that is Europe (new mecca)

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
yes, i did

You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.
no, i didn't they were not harsh enough...liberals do not understand two things...how to fight....and the ferocity and war consciousness of the Muslim world

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
water boarding...in my opinion is not severe enough to be called torture.
slowly sawing off the heaD OF KIDNAPPED WESTERNERS FOR VIDEO EFFECT....NOW THAT'S TORTURE....SEE?LIBERALS ARE IGNORANT OF THE PROCESS OF WINNING A WAR.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
provide a link that shows that the government wiretapped Americans that were not in contact with overseas entities and that it was in peace time ....and i will be mad

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

Bin Laden died...but i was mad when we didn't catch him before 911 when Clinton was offered him on a platter.... and refused

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
yes , i did and it woke me up to the fact that the Government is abyssmal at administering medical service to thosew who need it (if you were so mad at that why would you support the Govt run YOUR health care...that is an example of their record on that failure

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.
I did...I got mad at their mayor who left city busses idle
i got mad at the liberal governor who didn't do her job
i got mad (again) at the usual federal incompetence (and you want these people to run your health care?
and i got mad at the moochers and looters that inhabit that glowing example of a liberally run section of the country thatfailed in its nanny statye "assiustance" of the poor long before the storm hit....by killing the incentive of the lazy lousy loafers that lived there who refused to get their own act together for themselves enough to get off of the Govt tit and leave when a storm was approaching.....and then shot at their rescuers and killed and raped each other in the aftermath
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.
yes, i did and have always been against BIG Government and have railed against it for years....the Republicans are NOT conservative and need to be removed because of this waste....but the liberals are worse and will call for more deficit and cheer Obama on when he QUADRUPLES that number(instead of getting mad) just because he is a liberal ...tthat makes every liberal Obama supporter who is mad at this last fact(above)a HUGE HIPOCRITE....

and proves that you are LIBERAL FIRST , and whatever else you are second,or third...American....woman...man...italian,irish,black,white,

if this last point is not true....let's hear your Anger at the Obama administration at this giant deficit they have given your Grandchildren and at the lies and broken campaign promises even in the first 6 months

let's hear the rage at the Obam not giving 5 days to read the legislation
let's hear the rage at the Obam putting Lobbists in hios advisory circle (as he claimed he would NEVER DO)
let's hear the Rage at the LIE that Obanma said...that he NEVER SAID he wanted a single payer option....(but ....oops....caught on video....saying it himself)

no....there will be no anger at Obama...from liberals....because you are liberals first....Americans second...

Liberalism supercedes even your own love for the financial security of your Grandchildren....

QUADRUPLE THE DEFICIT?....OUTRAGE?...anyone?.....anger?.....Liberals?

no.......didn't think so

now.....defend him...............

I was just going to say almost the same thing you said Barbara when you edited it.

I am not angry about proposed health care reform.  I have personally seen or heard too many horror stories with the system the way it is. I know it needs reform and I know it won't happen unless the gov gets involved in some way.

I am concerned that the intention of some polticians and some posters seems to just be anti reform because they are anti Obama and heaven forbid he should get credit for actually helping the situation.

so you're not angry at his lies?
but you are angry at Bush's lies?

so you are angry at Walter reed...but you think the same government bureaucrats will "fix" an entity infinitely more complicated and more integral to our economy....with more bureaucracy....and trillions of dollars of deficit and....make it more affordable for you and improve the care?

you said

have you not seen or heard any of the horror stories of the bureaucratic incompetence of EVERYTHING the government gets involved in?

----------

Let me first say that I was one of the angry ones with most of the issues listed in the OP.  Could it have been that I, along with many other dems/libs, became anti-GWB period at some point and didn't want him to get credit for actually helping any situation?  I am certain that's how it was.  For me, and others.

But, now the shoe is on the other foot and you're beginning to see, I think, what went down with GWB.  I'm wearing the same pair of shoes, not having changed in vocalizing my disgust when things make me angry, lies are told. flip-flops are made.  Some of you, OTOH, have gone to the shoe store and bought new shoes because the others you once wore to vocalize about Bush are no longer a good 'fit'.

We went round and round on Katrina.  There was blame that could be and was applied to the locals all the way up to the federal government.  Many people dropped the ball, some never taking personal responsiblity for their own actions, or lack thereof.  Katrina was a disaster on many levels, imo, but the wording "let a city drown" is over the top.

Re: You didn't get mad

People did drown in a major city during Katrina while the locals, the governor and the president and his appointees played a poltical game of trying  to hoist the blame on whoever was of the opposite party.  My anger over that was so over the top no statement could be too strong.  There is just no comparing such a lack of basic respect for human life to someone "flip flopping over the wording in a  bill that hasn't been finalized yet.  (and the big point is whichever way the bill goes the intent is to actually help people)

I think some of you are missing the point of the original post.  It is not a list of "Bush lies"  so it can be compared to "Obama lies"   It is a  list of major horrible political events that actually happened.

If you think think you can compare Obama  saying two different things about a public option in a bill to the invasion of Iraq.  You need a lot more than a new pair of shoes.

as long as you believe the myth that this list of liberal garbage you posted "It is a list of major horrible political events that actually happened", you will always be struggling with these made up left wing fallacies....

That is why I just laugh over the Birthers conspiracy antics.....we had 8 years of all these left-wing lies, conspiracy bullshit, twists, spin, protests, and Bush bashing on a daily basis....

Now it is the leftists turn......and it is hilarious to watch.

katrina happened

August 18 2009, 6:48 PM

then the government set up the exact situation following the storm that was set up before katrina

what has the current administration done to alleviate future "katrina" disasters?

my guess is nothing

enabling poverty through socialist programs is what exacerbated the suffering in the beginning

there is only one way to teach self reliance
cut off the free checks that your neighbor pays to keep you from forcing yourself to provide your own living
