Hey all, just received some pretty upsetting news. I had a biopsy done a few weeks ago , that turned out to be a benign cyst. When I went in yesterday to get a mammogram and an ultrasound done, there is another spot in the axillary area that looks suspiciously like cancer.
The surgeon I routinely see looked at the films and says it definitely looks like cancer to her. She just wants a confirmation of it in terms of me getting another biopsy done. This happens on Monday morning. Results on Tuesday. I just want prayers and whatever good vibes you can send to whatever deity you worship.
I told my dad that I'll probably mentally check out for the next few days as I assimilate the news and reform my fightin' 'tude. If it is cancer , then I've got to get in that frame of mind again and hit the bitch with everything I've got.
They can knock you down Jen, but they can't knock you out.
My very best good vibes go out to you.

Obviously, this is not good news. And, I suppose the mammogram indicators could be wrong. Maybe the one good thing this time is that the whole family knows better what to expect. This will be a "full court press" from every angle.
I appreciate, and I know Jen does too, all of the good prayers and thoughts forwarded her direction.
Within the bounds of propriety and energy, we will keep you informed.
shit this post caught me so off guard. Jen with everything that is good in this world I wish I could give it all to you at this time! I am so sorry to hear this news. I know you though and know what a strong women you are. You will beat this and take it head on. I know and believe there is no stopping you! I don't know many that are as strong and confident as you. That girl is all you need and our love. Which you know you will always have to help you through.
Best of luck to you and the whole family. You will be just fine.
Oh Jen....this is so distressing....would be even more so if I didn't know the fighter you are and the grit, guts and determination to beat this monster. I am sure that you are going to get through this round as well. Positive thoughts, prayers and hugs to you. Your boys will make you even stronger and I know you have ALL of our support and best thoughts. YOU CAN DO IT!
I hope the news you receive after this Monday's biopsy says it's not cancer, Jen. I'll be thinking about you. You fought the battle once, and won. I believe that you can beat it again IF that's where this latest news takes you. Seems whatever has been found was found early, so that is a good sign, imo. Stay strong.
Damn it all Jen, I thought you kicked that BITCH cancer to the curb. I am so sad to learn you have to go through this all over again. Please know that you are in the hearts and prayers of all who know and have come to love you. Stay strong.
Jo

Jen, my daughter was diagnosed 2 years ago in July with breast cancer. It came back 1 month short of her 2nd year. She had her 8th and last chemo treatment yesterday [Friday]. She will now have surgery, again. She is doing well and the main effect has been feeling tired. Her health is great over all and during those two years she has been going to the gym and walking alot. She will turn 53 on the 29th of this month. I wish the best for you and my daughter and will add you to my prayer list. Keep that good attitude you have as it will help lift you up. God Bless.
Today I get my results... I can't thank you all enough for your encouragement and support. It means so much to me. I'll update you all when I get the news.
Prayers going up for you as we speak, Jen. Waiting was the worst part for me, but it's always good to know you have friends waiting with you.

Hate to tell you this, Gus, but that's the Marines and not the Air Force, but at least you have the sentiment correct even if your attempt at coolness was lost because you have the wrong service.
Sometimes the good guys win one. Congratulations, jen!

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young

Well just as soon as you have have a serious cancer scare, Ron, and come out okay, I promise I won't try and be cool. I have been doing non-service-related oooh-rahs for a number of years now, and it never occured to me that it would impact the lives of any non-recipients.

It is only good ettiquette, Gus, unless you were formerly a Marine to use the call of the service member, that is all. You say you want to be a gentleman, I'm giving you the proper way to be one.

I had no idea that ettiquette applied to expressions of enthusiasm, nor am I all that sure that ettiquette is any measure of what I consider to be a gentleman. But I will take your opinion under advisement, and do further research.
I'm a very, very, very happy dad today. I'm a reticent Dane, so I'm not going to get all schmaltzy on you.. Just enjoy the day, and the little present I left for everyone in the thread "6 minutes...etc).
