And so you think that someone like me, working 45 years and paying into the system is not entitled?  Fuck you, thank god you're not in charge.

if you paid in

just get it all back.

in the future...no one puts in for entitlements....but just keeps what they earn and fends for themselves

Maggie Thatcher.....

..is not even an AMERICAN, and she was an extremely far-right politician, too.  NOTHING she ever had to say is of any consequence to any Americans.

I LOVE THIS QUOTE: "The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money." Margaret Thatcher.

Later I'll run some more quotes from her.

Sometimes Supreme Court Justices will go outside of Constitutional Law to International Law in order to justify their ruling. I personally disagree with this practice with the exception with International Law where the United States had a hand in drafting. The Geneva Convention for example. Bush by the way was clearly in violation with it.

Margaret Thatcher can say whatever she wants, just remember the United States in not always involved.

Everyone is missing the main premise of this question:  And that is, "What is the obligation one must meet"?

I would be willing to bet that Evelyn would define that obligation differently than I do.

Well Jim, since I am sure you don't give a toot about what I think, why don't you give us your definition of what that obligation is.

My definition is that an "obligation" is formed when you are a citizen of this country.

Do you have a different definition?

Jim...

an obligation to pay for your neighbor's life?

so that he does not need to feel obligated to pay for his own?

roby why then do we need the government to take the money in the first place?

if no one takes any money out of the program that is put in by their neighbor

why not just keep what you earn and i'll keep what i earn and the govt' can stay out of it?

Gee, in a perfect world (e.g. before income tax) that would be great.  But then what would all the rich politicians do to make money?  What would the power hungry religious right use to trample non-believers' rights?  Let's face reality, you'll never see goverment out of your pockets in our lifetime, in fact, it will get worse.

true...
because of people like you who have not read or understood the reasons for the founders' design of our constitution and the placement of the tenth amendment

because of people like you who do not understand that once government control passes beyond a threshold....blood is the only route back to freedoms that are taken

and people like you only see with emotion

you will only regret the socialist policies you vote for after your kin are put in jail or murdered by the expanding power hungry political class that is inevitable when voters allow government expansion into their lives

by then it will be to late to do anything but fight
and people like you will be the first targets of the over-controlling government you elected

Not as long as we keep electing them.
