Chamber of Commerce Releases Health Care Ad
Posted by Anna Aulova
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a powerful business lobbying group, will begin airing a 30 second TV ad today criticizing the current health care reform plans in Congress and "calling for responsible health reform."
The ad will air in about 20 states, including Arkansas, Colorado, and Nebraska, and is targeted to areas where lawmakers are undecided on reform efforts.
The ad shows a balloon being inflated with words "tax increases, swelling deficits, government control" written on it. A voiceover notes that the Congressional Budget Office predicts the deficit will grow $239 billion if one form of health care reform is passed.
The balloon eventually bursts, as the voiceover says: "Tell Congress, 'Let's slow down and reform health care the right way.'"
R. Bruce Josten, executive vice president of Chamber of Commerce, told the Associated Press that the ad will be one of the most visible ad-based criticisms of Mr. Obama's health care plan.
Opponents of health reform have been heavily outspent in advertising by Mr. Obama's supporters this year, according to the AP.

So much for over-spending when there's no need. All that money spent and they are still drowning.
And no mention of how the soaring health care costs are crippling small businesses. I have no time for this group after watching them fight tooth and nail against any increase in the minimum wage.

And gran, evelyn has tricare for life, so her only health care cost is her monthly Medicare Part B and small copays for her meds --either $3 (generic) or $9 (non-generic) for a three months supply.

You are wrong on co-pays cat...... I pay nothing. I get my meds at the dispensery. I only pay those amounts if the base does not carry a perscribed med and I have to get it from the druggist. I was told I have the best health care going and believe me I know that. Was it free? Hell no. My husband gave up 23 years of a normal life to get this coverage and my children did without their father for months at a time for this coverage. You don't know unless you'e been there what's involved living a life in the military. I would hope you are not jealous of what my husband earned for his family while helping to keep you feeling safe at night. He ended up dying from cancer that the dr. said was attributible to the agent orange and asbestos aboard the carriers he served on.

It's obvious you don't know who you are talking to. Moon (cat) knows quit well what you speak of.

If it had been obvious piglet, I would have address this in a different manner.
Moon know all about military life. Her hubby is retired military. i know about it too since my hubby was a 100% DAV. We know all the pros and cons, but she is right about you med coverage. you probably have tri-care. I have ChampVA, which pays better medically I believe. But I think Disabled Vets deserve that extra bonus.

I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and
all the less important ones just never go away.
And the real pains in the ass are permanent.

Oh, so you want to play Can you top me? My husband served 25 years in the military, 9 years of which were far from normal when he was in intelligence, 4 years of which was in Europe--where even our famiy vacations, we were tailed by the KGB--as were others in his detactment. So honey, I have been there and I know what is involved in living the military life. But it was the life we chose together and we were willing to be a military family. And on top of that, our only son served in the Air Force as an F16 pilot, with overseas duty, night flying the border of north Korea. Now that is helping with all Americans to feel safe at night.
And what is thisI would hope you are not jealous of what my husband earned for his family. Jealousy is not something in my personal make-up and that is such a stupid remark to make to someone whom you have no clue is about.
And just because we have great health care does not mean that I should not have concerns for so many who have problems with their health insurance policies. Now that is helping all Americans feel safe and secure knowing that their health insurance plans will deliver like the policies say and that they will have coverage even when they switch jobs or move or have a severe accident or debilitating illness.

You couldn't prove that by the way you said it cat. And calling my remark stupid sounds even worse like maybe there is a spark there. You don't know me either but you haven't let that stop you from making "such a stupid remark"

In other words, cradle to the grave security paid for by the taxpayers. Come on cat didn't you learn from your husbands service to his country that we are all responsible for ourselves and can't look to government to give us everything. The constitution says we are to have a strong defense not insurance for every one. I am tired of you left wing do gooders who won't be satisfied until we are all tied to the government's apron strings.
I care just as much as you do about others needs but I certainly am not going to ask my fellow americans to pay for someone else's short sighted-ness of not getting insurance for themselves and their family. That taxpayer is burdened to much now as it is and they have themselves and their families to worry about. Or haven't you thought that far ahead......America simply can't afford obamacare.
