In fact, the House bill (the only bill to be formally introduced in its entirety) specifically says that no federal money would be spent on giving illegal immigrants health coverage:

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
Also, under current law, those in the country illegally dont qualify for federal health programs. Of interest: About half of illegal immigrants have health insurance now, according to the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center, which says those who lack insurance do so principally because their employers dont offer it.

Please provide a cite for that... I have seen nothing that suggests anything about "free health care" except for those who meet certain criteria. Are you saying that this directive to NOT provide medical care to illegal/unauthorized aliens is unConstitutional?

Wilson cited the defeat of those two amendments Thursday when he discussed his outburst with reporters.
"I will tell you this, that it was spontaneous. It was when he stated, as he did, about not covering illegal aliens, when I knew we'd had those two amendments," Wilson said.

Please post a link. I cannot find anything that leads me to believe you are telling the truth on this issue. You honestly believe the US Constitution REQUIRES health care for illegals? I have read it and fail to find mention of that REQUIREMENT please post a link.

I think some of them are making a comparison to schools. CA couldn't keep illegals out of the schools because they had to provide free education to everyone.
But healthcare is different because the bill doesn't provide free care to everyone.
I might not be understanding that right but I saw someone post that comparison with the claim about the constitution.

I'm saying that they are using the consitution argument because they say under "equal protection under the law" anything you provide for some you must provide for all including illegals.

And if you consider the rights given the prisoners at Gitmo, you can see the same logic used to provide rights to everyone within the limits of the US.

There is a difference between denying health care of illegals and denying them health insurance coverage. Which of course brings up another can of worms. As long as employers hire them at low wages with no benefits, then this problem will continue. Fine the companies who hire them to make the employment of illegals unprofitable.

I read somewhere that most illegals don't go to emergency. They take care of their problems at home, unless it's something they can't handle, shooting, knife wounds, severe beatings, etc. This may be because they are afraid of deportation. but most ER's are full of white victims...

I am well aware of that--but we are not talking about hospitals, we are talking about illegals and government health care. First the illegals means they are not within the law and to say they deserve it because the Christian compassion demands it is illogical.
It may be true that the Christian act5 of compassion is the best, but to argue that point that illegals are entitled to it due to the Christian act violates the sepoaration of Church and state.

...."government" (at least FEDERAL government) healthcare right now is MEDICARE....and you need a valid social security number to get that...and the VA (where you need your discharge numbers....don't know what they are called). Exactly how many illegals do you think can come up with valid SS numbers or discharge from the military numbers/orders/whatever?
Of course anyone can (and does) get EMERGENCY care....because that's the law. That would be due to the fact that as a whole, Americans are sympathetic people who will not let others (no matter WHO they are or WHERE they are from) suffer when they need immediate medical help.
