Thank You Moonbats.

Here is a pic of the "tens of thousands"(*chortle*) of --------------(fill in the blank) who went to Washington today, as well as thousands more in cities around the nation.  This would have never happened without your help.  I have every confidence that you will continue your good work, because you have proven time and time again that you are too stupid and arrogant to ever know any better.  With your continued efforts, we can grow this-----------(fill in the blank) to ever more historic proportions.  Thank you, thank you...

OMG! This is so funny... not because there are so many gullible unemployed who have nothing better to do with their time but because this is exactly the kind of demonstration that Gus use to mock those on the left for participating in. Gus, is that you I see standing on the side waving to the cameras? It's a long drive to DC glad to see you made it OK. Feel free to stop here on your way home for a cup of coffee.wink.gif

Yep, I think it's great.  Just plain folks don't like to be called names, one after another after another.  Imagine the amount of frustration it finally took to get this many Bubbas and Bubettes off their butts and away from the TV for this much trouble.  For 35 years, they have munched chips, and watched bad TV while the Left was doing this every other weekend.  The bottom line?  Obama and his Congress, butt-sniffed by the fawning MSM, and amplified at every opportunity by the moonbats,  have *really* screwed-the-pooch to have caused this.

Until....

....a URL is posted for that particular picture, why would anyone believe that it's from today's 9/12 rally?  I'm sure there are PLENTY of pictures of the Mall in DC with crowds.  I was there for the 4th of July about 20 years ago....and it was even MORE crowded than that picture shows.

Re: Thank You Moonbats.

September 13 2009, 9:47 AM

I think you've been had, Gus ...

First of all, I happened to watch some of the Fox News coverage of this rally yesterday morning, and I distinctly recall the reporter (a woman - I don't recall her name) saying the group did not have access to the Mall.

Second, this Fox News report about the rally says several things which contradict the idea that the above image is from yesterday's rally:

The tens of thousands of protesters marched to the U.S. Capitol chanting various slogans and waving posters that voiced a rather broad array of grievances against big government and the leaders, particularly President Obama, who the protesters blame for its size and scope.

So you see, your own preferred news source refers to "tens of thousands" - the phrase you ridiculed.

Second, the picture caption in that article states:

A crowd of people, some carrying signs, are shown during a rally at Freedom Plaza in Washington on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009. (AP)

Freedom Plaza is at the White House end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Third, after having marched to the U.S. Capitol:

The line of protesters clogged several blocks near the capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

So, according to Fox News, there was a rally involving "tens of thousands" of protesters who rallied at Freedom Plaza, then marched to the capitol where they "clogged several blocks." None of that comports with the massive rally filling the entire Mall and almost a third of the Rotunda which you posted.

Is that it?  Is that all you've got?  Are the nutroots going to grasp this like a relay baton and run with it?  Read my answer to stupid's question.  I think it was the DC park police who estimated the crowd at 60K.  Of course, others in support say a million-plus, moonbats in their fury will try to sell the idea of a few dozen.

The point has been made by other posters that the Right just didn't do this sort of thing.  That's correct, it has been rare.  *That* is the point to be taken from this.  All this furious denial in the form of ugly names, false motives and origins, and general juvenile insults in a serial pattern from the Left, has *given birth* to this!  And it's not going anywhere!  Look at the Wilson/Miller money race after the "lie" comment.  They are running neck and neck, and that would have been unheard of six months ago!  Why do you think I'm so appreciative of the moonbat's doing what they do best, and *continuing* to feed this brushfire?  Go for it!  Dispute the pictures, dispute the crowd, make jokes, denigrate, and insult.  The next "demonstration" may be at the ballot box in 2010.

Yes Gus, "all I've got" is the identical photograph taken in 1997, same shadows, same exact placement of all the people, same absence of a major museum building which was completed in 1998.

But feel free to keep believing what you posted was a picture of yesterday's rally. It fits right in with the rest of your relationship with reality.

Do you have any idea at all how much Wilson out-raised Miller in the last cycle? Any idea at all? Sure, running neck-and-neck would have been unheard of six months ago - but in the opposite direction from what you apparently think.

You miss the point entirely.  Six months ago, the nutroots would have raised their money in the wake of their targeting of the "lie" comment virtually unopposed.  Their *was* no counterpart on the Right!  What that means is that in the space of time since the original "teabaggers", the moonbats have grown this on the Right to the point that it can now compete head-to-head with the long established, well-funded, and highly organized nutroots!  Once again, thank you!

Gee, I don't know Gus ... maybe it was the part where you wrote: "Here is a pic of the "tens of thousands"(*chortle*) of --------------(fill in the blank) who went to Washington today" ...

Based on the traffic cam pictures of the actual rally and my rich experience with football crowds, I'd put the size of the rally at somewhere around 50,000 to 60,000. Apparently, the public safety officials in Washington agree. And coincidentally, that's "tens of thousands" - a characterization that you found chortle-worthy.

That's not a bad sized crowd, but I find it interesting that people have felt the need to lie about it being a million or more, and to post phony photos in support of that lie.

What?? Six months ago there was no hard-core right wing base? Have you already forgotten the dead-ender 27% who maintianed their support of Bush/Cheney to the bitter end?

The noisy bunch had nothing to do with Obama getting the Congress to pass health care legislation, it is, in my opinion and for the most part, those legislators with their hands in the lobbyists pockets trying to derail anything happening.

No, six months ago there was no co-ordinated network of intenet "machinery" that could have dreamed of raising such a sum, at such a rate.  To do so was *now* simply a function of the Right's new "netroots" of it's own, growing like weeds in response to the serialized demonizations from the Left and it's media.
