Our Injustice

Yes, someone can't help but ask "why" when they see the entire big picture. Everyone else only sees what the news papers print or the TV news shows. But, to see the entire case, and to know that the district attorneys see the entire case, to know that someone else can see it for what it is and still drag you through the court system makes you feel it is personal. Makes you feel that they know the person charged is innocent and don't care. It shows that they don't care about justice or the victims, only about convictions. You know, people rant and rave about the crime rate in America, and one of the reasons it is so high is because of innocent people being locked up for a crime they never did. Meanwhile, the person who did the crime is free to commit more crimes. I feel that some kind of investigation should be done before arresting someone and charging them with such a horrible crime. There should be more evidence to point to someones possible guilt than them being at the place where the cops come. If the state had spent as much time in trying to find the person who did the arson as they did in trying to convict my son, they would have caught them by now.
We were also one of the families that didn't even get a sorry. They ruin your life and cause you to have all kinds of fears that will never go away, things you will have to live with forever, and don't even blink when they do it. I have an appointment with an attorney that does civil law this coming Monday. I am going to see what can be done about some of this. I feel at this point, they owe us more than a simple "sorry". I would have accepted a sorry in the begining if they had realized they had made a mistake and dropped the charges soon after my son had been arrested. But because they didn't drop it, because they pushed us to the very end,now I want to see some justice of a different kind. I think they owe my son for everything he lost, his car, two jobs and his time locked up.And maybe for all the money it cost for an attorney to defend him. He might not recover all that he should, but believe me, it won't be for lack of trying. I am not planning on giving up my search for the person who did the crime also. I still have flyers to put up and news paper ads to run. If they are not intrested in finding the person who did this, I am. I would like them to be held accountable for their actions as much as the victims would. Because I feel that we are all victims in this also. Thanks for understanding, Sandi.
