He suggested that I use 600 grit sandpaper rolled in a cone. Said to lightly turn it evenly using 3-4 fresh pieces of sand paper until it was a mirror finish. Took about 15 minutes to get it to that stage. It worked great. It removed all "snags" when loading the pellets, and it also helped with accuracy. He did discourage me from using a dremol but I'm not mechanically inclined enough to recall why.
