I would take it off.

I took mine off, and put some o-rings in its place.
It gets bumped out of position during shipping.
The setscrews want to settle in the original depressions.
I did get mine centered pretty good, just touching the o-ring @ 12 oclock.
I think it is easier just to remove it.
